We’ve just open-sourced JOSH, our method for 4D human–scene reconstruction in the wild. InstantSplat++ is now open source. It is a lightweight library that connects foundation models (VGGT, MASt3R, MAP-Anything, etc.) with the Gaussian splatting family. Given uncalibrated images, it optimizes a 3D scene in a few seconds. Try the demo and code here: github.com/phai-lab/Insta…

@tom_krikorian Ah that’s awesome, great work! High performance splats in RealityKit would be a game changer for visionOS 27. Knowing Personas use them, it must be possible! Are you using LowLevelMesh here?

I've been exploring Gaussian Splatting for a while now and finally have a working version of a viewer working in RealityKit (without Compositor Services) but only on macOS. visionOS performance is just horrible. I don't know how to make that same codebase work on it (yet). Maybe visionOS 27 will help 🙏

For anyone trying the update, the SampleApp needs a change to the code in the renderer as it defaults to SH0. The app on App Store has not been updated in ~a year, so you won’t see it there either yet. Looks amazing when you see SH3 on device!
