It is wrong to equate the US retirement of the Avenger class MCM ships with mine warfare "neglect." They are old ships that have served well, but their time is done. They are being replaced by unmanned and helicopter-based systems that keep people out of mine danger areas.

Voters think they pay too much in taxes. What would make them feel better about that fact?
Start by making sure big corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share. Give transparency into how tax dollars are spent.
Only 41% say paying less in taxes would improve sentiment.

It is very encouraging to see America's European allies boosting their defense spending. This process will take a long time to complete, and America can best enable it by applauding and assisting it, and by ruffling as few European feathers as possible.

This is good to hear. Between the war against Iran, and the constant need to be ready to fight China and/or Russia at sea, Latin America is not the place for the US to be sending carrier strike groups.
