Would you still recommend your kids go to college for a general arts degree? I would rather they go to a trade school 😂

I need all the corporate men to know. Women are not necessarily camera ready just because you can roll out of bed and look the same. Stop acting like 'just get on camera' is a thing that doesn't cause anxiety.

My 95 year old grandmother pays $2000 in property taxes & another $3000 in school taxes every single year on a house that was built in 1850 that is falling apart. She was widowed in 1973 & as a single mother of 6 worked everyday of her life until she was in her mid 70s. She gets $10,000 a year from the federal government to live on, but once you subtract $5000 in taxes she is left with $5000 for the rest of the year to buy food, supplies & bills. Are people really this uneducated on this issue? Oh my god.

FYI seniors already get homestead exemptions, lowered assessments, tax credits, and deferral plans to help with property taxes based on their state and income level

@jasonc_nc @lb_412 We paid for our elders to suck at the public teat. We didn't whine and bitch. That's the difference Jason, we didn't whine and bitch on social media.

Why are we continually finding more ways to subsidize the wealthiest generation in our country’s history? 38% of all federal spending is for seniors. Of mandatory spending it is over half. And of age-assignable spending it is 62%. For a group that is 18% of the total population with more home equity, more stock holdings, and more savings. So the obvious answer is… exempt them from property taxes too, creating yet another reverse wealth transfer to be borne by the younger and poorer.

Has never been a better time in American history to be an older person. Amazing reverse value capture that continually increases.

@ashleyschendel These things are not related. Stop making them related because the house is conveniently used as the tax basis. You pay property taxes to cover infrastructure. I do agree the basis is an oversimplified method. They should do continual right-sizing of the costs vs income.

Seniors should not be priced out of a house they already paid for because the area around them got more expensive. They didn’t suddenly get richer because Zillow says the house is worth more. Most of them are living on fixed income, paying higher insurance, higher utilities, higher groceries, and then the tax bill shows up like they somehow got a raise. People can argue all day about how to fund schools and services, and that part does matter. But making older homeowners keep rebuying the same house every year through property taxes is exactly why so many people feel like ownership is never really ownership.

Men refuse to use condoms, to get vasectomized, and to raise children. And yet they want to punish women who have abortions. That's misogyny, not morality.

Miller: The way most welfare works in most states and most places is we take your word for it. If you say your kids are hungry, you are going to get food stamps. We don't check if you even have kids. You will just start getting the checks.

A white Colorado dermatologist is suing the creator of Find A Black Doctor, arguing the directory unlawfully excludes non-Black physicians. Dr. Travis Morrell filed the lawsuit on May 19 in federal court in Manhattan alongside Do No Harm, a medical nonprofit that opposes DEI initiatives in healthcare. Morrell says his application was denied solely because he is white.

@jemelehill This is great. I have no interest in seeing a black doctor, because they were held to a significantly lower bar than everyone else and they are likely stupid. You only want a black doctor because you're a raging bigot and hate white people. This is a win/win!

Y’all never want to do the extra homework and ask why Black patients feel the need to seek out Black doctors in the first place. There is so much research about how Black patients — especially Black women — have been mistreated and disrespected by the healthcare system. Per usual, you’re attacking the remedy rather than actually addressing the problem.
David AttenBruh@AlHendiify

In the spirit of keeping Black patients in Colorado safe: Dr. Travis Morrell of Mountain West Dermatology filed the case. If you're lookin for dermatological care devoid of medical racism there may be better options for you.

My high school AP English teacher bought me a suit and gave me gas money so I could afford to attend a merit scholarship interview weekend at Sewanee: The University of the South. Without her, I never would have landed a full ride worth close to $500k between tuition, room, board, books, fees, and annual international internships. She’s the reason I broke my family’s cycle of not even graduating from HS and thanks to her, I got a world-class education without student debt. I owe her so much. 🥹

@43981li Thanks for the link, which is helpful. The insinuation that I don’t know how to read, less so. Because I can read, I noticed that the charges against the two women are not the same. Since I’m not a lawyer or a judge I don’t have much of an opinion on sentencing disparity.

They should also add “Letting millions of undocumented illegals aliens into the country was a bad look” But realistically, the way the Democrat party works, they wouldn’t learn from this lesson. If they could do it again, they would allow millions more into the country and go harder on the media talking points to gaslight Americans.

DNC Chair Ken Martin released an incomplete 2024 election autopsy: • Trump’s “they/them” attacks on Harris were seen as highly effective • Biden team criticized for failing to prepare Harris • Democrats accused of neglecting rural voters and local parties • Report says party relied too much on “not Trump” messaging instead of defining itself
