My friend and mentor, @MetCouncil board member Abe Foxman, passed away surrounded by family and friends. He was one of the great Jewish leaders of the last century, fighting on behalf of the Jewish people until the very end. May his memory be a blessing.

This is a very dangerous moment for the American Jewish community. An epidemic cutting across the right and the left , reinforcing and distributing the classic antisemitic canard of Jewish power and control.Blaming Israel ( PM Netanyahu) and the American Jewish community (AIPAC) of dragging America into a war with Iran.Shades of the antisemitic charges that Jews pushed America into WWII. It is imperative that from the President down these dangerous antisemitic conspiracy theories be challenged,countered and exposed immediately!

As @MetCouncil board member, Abe came to nearly every event simply to show his support. Just a few weeks ago, he came with his grand daughters to volunteer. Public leaders don’t always match who they are in private. Abe was even better in private. BDE

I will continue doing everything in my power to protect Jewish New Yorkers, from advancing my buffer zone proposal to enhancing security at our synagogues, schools, and community institutions.
