Well, clearly some of the teams are not spending enough. But the systemic problems that are allowing the dodgers to play a completely different game are undeniable. They have so much more money than anyone else that paying more in luxury tax than other teams' entire payroll doesn't matter. Having a billion in deferrals doesn't matter. The economics of the game do not allow Pittsburgh or Milwaukee to compete with the dodgers on free agents. That is what has been repeatedly debunked. Milwaukee could spend 100% and they wouldn't even touch LAD in spending. All that is not even accounting for the fact that MLB payroll isn't remotely all the expenses that teams have.

@MFW29 @BenVerlander @FlippinBatsPod The dodgers have a TV contract that is by far the best in the league, but they are able to exclude sharing most of what they should share due to a one-off deal made when Frank McCourt was forced to sell the team in his divorce. So they literally have an unfair advantage.
