I argue part of the enthusiasm for the MVP Netflix card is it promises to be "fun". Consider that he fights are generally low stakes. Critics who say the event is frivolous are largely right, but it seems like for now, frivolity mixed with star power might be a winning recipe:

@lthomasnews Why would they want to get around using the DC commission? Are they hard to work with?

This isn’t of concern to parties not from the area, but it will be very interesting to see if promoters try to use the federal land exemption to get around regulations either in DC or on some other parcel or federal land.

UFC is announcing that rather than the DC commission overseeing the UFC White House event, the Association of Boxing Commissions (an utterly compromised institution if ever there was one) will provide oversight in an advisory capacity:

It's incredible how many people do not understand at all how the UFC business operates. Look at the replies. "Oh, what happens when fighters get out of their deals?" Yeah, there's the rub. They're not going to. Keeping fighters under contract is *central* to UFC's operations.

The head of DC's athletic commission views the UFC White House event as unsanctioned and says the results shouldn't go on a fighter's record. He's also worried about the precedent it sets for other promoters who wants to use federal parcels of land in DC to skirt regulation:

I love MMA so much. It just hurts seeing where it is right now. Feels like 2026 has been such a low point. These fights haven't been fun or exciting to watch. I hate feeling like I wasted a Saturday night watching bad fights. Life is so short. Come on, UFC. You have to do better.

@CarBusinessMan Would like manufacturers to broaden the closed sale inventory. They are selling on open sales to Carvana and Carmax. They may get a little more for the car, but they miss out on CPO fees and warranty sales. Plus, the buyer is less likely to become brand loyal and buy new.

@GuyDealership Confirmed. It’ll be interesting to see how this is applied to current groups outside these new guidelines. Lithia has 42 CDJR stores, but the new max in the US is 10.

Effective January 6th 2026, no entity shall be able to acquire more than one CDJR dealership within a rolling 12-month period. Sorry $CVNA you might not live to see another CDJR dealership.

@BenjaminSolak Solid player for sure. In 2024 Florida had him, Jason Marshall and Trikweze Bridges as DBs. Talent was there in Florida. Just didn’t win with Napier

I like what I'm seeing from Florida CB Devin Moore. Not a tall CB class. He's 6'2 with good eyes and feel. Gets pulled into off coverage here, maintains great positioning on the high corner, sees the crosser + understands the concept. Good ball tracking + attack.

Based on market share, Stellantis has 2.7x more dealers than their domestic competitors. Something has to give.
