We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from @NASAKennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars. The launch window opens at 6:24pm ET (2224 UTC). twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…

Disney launched a new ad where a dad and son share a night time walk on a cruise ship, across an entire lifetime. Every parent needs to hear this: the moments feel small until they’re gone. Put down the phone. Spend the time. It’s the only thing they’ll remember.

New York City public schools are approaching $40,000 per pupil per year in spending. Do the math on that. If you had a ten-student microschool and got that money directly, you'd have $400,000 per year to educate ten students. You could rent a beautiful facility and have money left over. You could pay yourself far better than any public school teacher makes. You could have great technology, field trips, guest speakers, whatever you wanted. And you'd still have budget remaining. The question is where all that money actually goes. Most of it never reaches the classroom.

For evidence-based teaching, start with Rosenshine’s principles of instruction. In my latest Chalk & Talk episode, @teacherhead and I go through them in detail....where they come from, why they matter, and what they look like in practice. Links below 👇

@rpondiscio People underestimate how hard it is to run a school that needs to be all things to all people. One of the most important things about school choice is that it lets a school define a model or a mission. It can remind parents & teachers about what it is & isn’t & they can choose.

The congregation rose in applause as Archbishop Ronald Hicks formally accepted his appointment from Pope Leo XIV as the Archbishop of New York, lifting the papal document for all to see. He shared an embrace with Cardinal Dolan before taking his seat at the cathedra, where he greeted faith leaders of America. The Installation Mass moved seamlessly through English, Spanish, and Latin — from traditional chant to contemporary hymn — a vivid reflection of the Church’s ancient roots and its voice in today’s world.

Kudos to @Bobby4Brooklyn a longtime champion for our most vulnerable for highlighting the obvious that all kids deserve the right to due process no matter which school they attend.@AgudahNews strongly supports his legislation with @NYSenator_JSS to codify that right into law

I fought to bring the first ever dedicated #GiftedandTalented school to SI bc these programs provide vital, merit-based opportunities to students of all backgrounds. The misguided plan to remove G&T will only deepen educational inequities & hurt the same students it purports to help foxnews.com/politics/educa…

Will Governor Hochul Opt-in to Support Kids & Schools? Starting in 2027, the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit will let taxpayers redirect up to $1,700 of their federal income taxes to nonprofit scholarship organizations that provide tuition assistance for students in Catholic schools. For example, a taxpayer owing $10,000 could direct $1,700 to scholarships instead of sending it to the federal government—directly helping families afford a Catholic education, and even additional services at public schools. But New York families will miss out unless the governor opts in. Governor Hochul’s participation would bring new scholarship dollars to Catholic schools, easing financial pressure on families and expanding access to faith-based education. Tell Governor Hochul to opt in and support Catholic school families. ✏️ TAKE ACTION HERE: votervoice.net/NYSCATHOLIC/ca…

Great piece by @JasonBedrick: "There are now 34 states with a school choice policy, including 17 publicly funded “universal” school choice programs that make every K-12 student eligible—yet there is zero evidence that school choice harms district schools, let alone “destroys” them." dailysignal.com/2026/01/26/be-…
