An unexamined life isn't worth living. From stocks, history, global issues, sports, and comedy, I'll talk about it.

If you’re a believer in being greedy when others are fearful, this is your kind of market. Computerized, news driven, algorithmic selling pressure…which is 80-90% of what we saw this week…feels heavy af when you’re going through it. But then, it just ends. And it’s followed by a rip your face off melt up move higher.

@THunt07 I’m starting to buy here since we are at 200dma and RSI is close to 30. Once we go below I’ll pick up the buying

At the end of a bear market “the generals” are all shot last. I have been very consistent on this. What this means is the Mag7 (which performed the best over the last 3 years) excluding $TSLA will get crushed the hardest at the very end of the selloff. We are entering this phase

@RomeInTheEast Talk about some propaganda for Arcadius and a column. The weak and ineffective emeperor knew how to at least look good as an emperor.

I’d like to thank @British_Airways for bumping me out of my already paid for business class seat, Because I didn’t check in until 9 hours before my flight at the airport, Which had no British airways attendant present until I was in London, BUT Flight attendants were wonderful.

@KHerriage Politics aside, there has been elevated inflation that has been running above the 2% Target for years. I see both sides here. You are dammed if you do dammed if you don’t.

This Fed meeting is all about the war and especially “the sharp increase in oil prices.” But when oil prices were plummeting from Joe Bidens $115/b oil down to $54/b oil under Trump…crickets. J Powells Fed is the most political Fed in history.

@MJWhitaker81 It has allowed me to write freely and not worry about my grammar at all. I focus on my content, not my writing.

@nfergus I can’t see the article but the Dardanelles versus the Strsight of Hormuz are very different. Hormuz is 21 miles wide at its narrowest while Dardanelles are less than 2 miles. Plus that’s not taking into consideration one side today is under friendly control plus tech advantage

"Nowhere is the law of unintended consequences more binding than when crucial commercial chokepoints become casualties of war." My latest essay for @TheFP on the lessons history has to offer those who would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

@TrungTPhan Gotta say I like No Country for Old Men a lot better. Found “There will be Blood” not be very good.

Paul Thomas Anderson not winning an Oscar for “There Will Be Blood” is wild…until you realize he was up against “No Country For Old Men”. The two (probably) best films of 21st century both filmed in Marfa, Texas at the exact same time in 2007. Pyrotechnics from PTA’s oil flick briefly shut down both productions because of too much smoke. Cleared up after a few days and the Coen brothers could get back to filming.

Paul Thomas Anderson is still trying to win his first Academy Award. If “One Battle After Another” delivers, he’ll be the first director to win an Oscar after dropping out of NYU film school two days into the semester because the screenwriting professor said “if you’re here to write Terminator 2, just leave now.”
