The 53rd class of law at MUK just graduated. After four years studying law, I am more than convinced that legal literacy matters for all Ugandans. I share this and more in this piece in Daily monitor. Find it via monitor.co.ug/uganda/oped/le…

In the Age Limit petitions, we successfully challenged Parliament’s attempt to extend its own term from 5 to 7 years. Any decision to extend parliamentary (or presidential) terms beyond what’s constitutionally permitted cannot be made by incumbents voting for their own extension.
The New Vision@newvisionwire

Speaker Among seeks 7-year term for MPs, President “The Parliament of Uganda is a creature of the Constitution of Uganda as per Article 77. This is what gives us the mandate, prescribes the composition, the functions and the tenure of five years. I know when you come to @Parliament_Ug, you will think of changing from five to seven years like other countries, and the ayes will have it,” @AnitahAmong told newly-elected MPs during the Kyankwanzi retreat. Eyes on the future! : The AI-powered ClimCam on the ISS is a game-changer for the region, providing near-real-time data to monitor floods, droughts, and climate change. As our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pauline Byakika-Kibwika noted: "Zaina’s contribution is a living embodiment of our university’s name, proving that the science and technology we develop here have no earthly limits. You are a true MUST Trailblazer, and we celebrate." We acknowledge the photos from Egyptian Space Agency

From MUST to the International Space Station! We are bursting with pride for Eng. Zaina Kalyankolo from FAST, a key mind behind the AI-powered ClimCam now orbiting Earth. Her achievement is a true testament to the power of science and technology at @MbararaUST. Zaina helped design and calibrate the camera’s optical subsystem. She worked on configuring and aligning the optical sensors responsible for capturing high-quality environmental imagery and spectral data. Her rigorous testing ensured the system could capture clear images under varying atmospheric conditions. These optics are central to the ClimCam mission, enabling the instrument to gather precise visual data for climate analysis. She worked with colleagues from Egypt, Kenya and Uganda (Kyambogo University, Soroti University)

Our MPS should understand that Parliamentary legitimacy rests on the quality of legislation and how the laws enacted serve the common citizen , not merely on the quantity / volume of legislation enacted as numerical substitues can barely be efficient.

Every day, hundreds, maybe thousands of Ugandans - all of them in the prime years - leave the country in search of greener pastures in the Middle East. A desperate journey to escape from the lack of opportunities in their beautiful home. Tens of them never make it back alive. Many of those who do return with horrible stories: they are turned into commodities, bought and sold, used and abused at the leisure of their owner. Some of them get permanent mental instabilities. The @GovUganda - which has the mandate to protect all Ugandans in and outside the country - can do way more than releasing a list of licensed companies, which is all it does actually now. This, latest documentary from @AgoraCFR shows the magnitude of the problem, and the horrible suffering the families goes through! Watch the full documentary on Monday April 13, 2025, at 10 am. #AgoraInvestigates

How many more Ediths must we lose before the system admits that incarcerating citizens on bailable offenses—esp. for political activity—is a scourge that undermines the rule of law, public trust & human dignity? My condolences to @AMufumbiro @HEBobiwine @DavidLRubongoya @NUP_Ug

6205 and 3869 are not random numbers. They share a beautiful mathematical relationship. Split 6205 into 62 and 05: 62² + 05² = 3844 + 25 = 3869 Now split 3869 into 38 and 69: 38² + 69² = 1444 + 4761 = 6205 This is called a mirror squared sum, where both numbers generate each other using the same rule.
