501c3 & 501c6 nonprofit est. 2024 to protect Minnesota's independent pharmacies, the patients they care for, the communities they serve, and to #endPBMabuse.

The Louisiana House passed HB1236 102-0 today, a unanimous statement in support of local pharmacies and patient access. The bill requires PBMs to reimburse local pharmacies at least NADAC plus Louisiana’s Medicaid dispensing fee ($11.81). If NADAC doesn’t cover the pharmacy’s cost, the PBM has to pay the difference. LIPA thanks Rep. Jason DeWitt for authoring this legislation and appreciates every member of the House that voted yes. Onto the senate! See below for the full bill. #LaLege

Americans who are fed up with big chains and mail-order pharmacies should know there’s personalized, friendly service waiting for them at a nearby independent community pharmacy — and today, NCPA is launching a multi-million-dollar, multi-year advertising campaign to highlight just that! “We want Americans to rediscover their local, family-owned pharmacy, where they will get a much better experience and state-of-the-art health care,” says NCPA President Kristen Riddle. In our satirical commercials like “What I Love About Chain Pharmacies” and “What I Love About Mail Order,” customers heap ironic praise on all the wrong things before their scenarios are juxtaposed with other patients receiving care at their independently-owned community pharmacy. These ads and others will splash across national television over the next two weeks and then move to local cable, streaming TV, social media and online sites. 🔗 Learn more: ncpa.org/neighbors-not-… 🔗 Read our news release: ncpa.org/newsroom/news-…

Not to mention reimbursing their own affiliated mail order pharmacies at a higher rate than non-affiliated pharmacies AND higher patient cost share at those pharmacies, color me shocked! 🧐 Isn’t this the PBM that handles Tricare and kicked a bunch of independent pharmacies out of network, steering patients to the mail order pharmacies they also own? Should probably look into that.. @TruthRX
