@eshanbuilds @Polymarket Traded convenience for security. Australian government doesn’t plan any further forward than the next election cycle.
English

okay but zoom out and the real story is that australia built an economy that imports 80% of its fuel and is now shocked that a middle east conflict made fuel expensive. this is a tail risk that was completely visible and completely ignored because cheap imports were more convenient than energy sovereignty. the A$1 billion in loans is treating the symptom. the disease is a country that outsourced a critical input to the most geopolitically unstable region on earth.
genuinely curious whether any country has successfully reversed an energy import dependency this deep without a decade-long industrial policy commitment

@WifiMoneyPlant Fuck no. This has got to be rage bait. A Ferrari would be awesome for a week then loses its appeal. A life changing holiday lasts a lifetime. Meeting new people etc.
Eating out is one of life’s great pleasures.
You could have all the ‘things’ and be miserable.

@rationalaussie Maybe this is how they get rid of banks and usher in a fully digital ecosystem you can’t escape from.

You've seriously got to wonder what it would take for your average normie to just be like 'actually, no, I am not paying back this mortgage. What are you going to do about it.'
How about an inflationary depression where they can't afford fuel nor food, and AI takes their job?
You really couldn't write a better script for a defacto debt jubilee if you tried.
Debt only exists if the consequences for not paying it can be enforced.
You can't enforce repayment when millions of people lose their job, and have no prospects of getting a new one, because an AGI has replaced them for 3 cents an hour.
It's a fugazi.

@Zachariahskylab @David_Charts2 @SenWarren Yep. They are $36T in debt or some absurd number. Hardly any goes back to the taxpayer. Infrastructure is decrepit. All the US taxpayer gets is wars and bombs. Bank bailouts and wasteful spending.
Imagine the the USA loses its ability to print money like that!
English

@David_Charts2 @SenWarren No. The government literally wastes the money. It goes straight to fraud.
Billionaires have more incentive to act responsibly than the government.
English

@Kevin__Opp @David_Charts2 @SenWarren Yeah, if their tax revenue magically doubles, you can guarantee th government will wage the shit out of it.
English

@David_Charts2 @SenWarren The government spends trillions of dollars in deficit spending. They can’t even manage the tax money they already get. They borrow from the future generations.
Giving the government more money is a terrible idea.
English

@David_Charts2 @SenWarren It’s all in assets, not cash. You’d be asking them to sell off the business they created. They’d have less control over their companies and lots of other unforeseen consequences. I agree there is a middle ground, but just taxing job creators into oblivion is crazy.

@house_of_trad @alphafox Good genes = literally great genes. Very attractive. You could say the same about and race. Somehow these dumb Karen have tried to turn it into a racial issue. Provocateurs.

Man who randomly stabbed a 6-year-old to death, let out of prison after serving just 10 years, father of the boy vows to kill him if they cross paths.
Ronald Exantus broke into the home of the Tipton family in Kentucky and stabbed 6-year-old Logan to death in 2015.
After just 10 years in prison, Exantus has been released early due to his "good behavior."
Exantus was sentenced to 20 years in 2018 but found not guilty by reason of insanity.
"If I ever cross paths with him, I will kill the man. I will kill him right where he stands."
Logan was stabbed repeatedly in the head, so badly that the butcher's knife bent.
Absolutely infuriating. Those responsible for this pathetic result should be thrown in prison.

@KinderheimRune Anonymous accounts bring out the worst in people. Sadly.
English

@KinderheimRune Sure, but that’s up to her to post stuff online, no one else. Shouldn’t be posting pictures or stories of your family. It’s not Facebook or instagram. Just asking to get trolled.
English

@ausstockchick Yes it will get propped up, there’s no way they’ll let it fail.
I think it will be flat / limited growth for. Good decade or more. It has to, it cannot equalise and become reasonably priced again.
English

I keep reading tweets about how Australian real estate will crash.
I can promise you. You’ll never see Covid prices for housing again. Even if prices decline.
A slowdown is possible but a huge crash?
Questionable.

@TradersConf Wow that’s crazy. Good luck. Maybe need to make a big yolo bet on options to make it back.

Girlfriends family heard I was doing well in trading so her dad and uncle gave me $20k each to trade with. Went from $40k total to $67k total in a few months so they invested another $20k each. Now I’m down to $6k total after a few bad months. Haven’t told them I’ve lost their money yet, what should I do?
English

@KinderheimRune Didn’t see any of those. Mind you
I’m not doom scrolling hard enough to find all the nasty people.
I really don’t think dads should be posting pictures of their kids on X. This is the one website you don’t do that. X is the bottom of the barrel, especially political stuff.
English

@Capitana_espana Yeah nice dress if it wasn’t that her pussy is almost blowing in the wind.
