@WxNB_ You meant to say "ever recorded." You have no idea what has been observed in the past, but not documented. Only a fool would believe they know it all based on RECORDED observations.

As the first reanalysis data become available, I think I can say with a fairly high degree of confidence that the March 2026 heatwave will go down as the most anomalously extreme heat event ever observed at any time of year in the southwestern U.S.

Governing is hard. It was never supposed to be easy or simple or not nuanced. There's a reason they're called "public servants." And we need elected officials to actually be serious about doing the work, not just scoring points on social media.

"These twin crises (airport lines and aviation safety) are separate but related: They are both the result of an approach to governance that neglects the work of governing." My essay in @TheAtlantic theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/03/…

What If Tesla/xAI/SpaceX’s $20-25B Terafab AI Chip Megafactory Was Built at Hanford, WA Instead of Texas? A Transformative Economic Boom for Washington State (a thread) 1/ Elon Musk just announced the Terafab project — a massive $20-25 billion advanced semiconductor fab (2nm logic, memory & packaging) for AI chips to power Tesla FSD, Optimus robots, Dojo, SpaceX data centers & beyond. It’s launching in Austin, TX right now. But imagine if Washington had competed aggressively and landed it at the Hanford Site in Benton County (Tri-Cities / Richland-Kennewick-Pasco). The impact on our state economy would be huge — especially for Eastern WA. Here’s the breakdown:

I'm not saying the guy wasn't predisposed to carrying out this heinous act because of something that was totally out of his control, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be disposed of. Sometimes you design something with the greatest of intentions, but if it fails miserably, you throw it out and try again. This is no different.

A drug-addicted parasite stole a gun, walked up to a random pregnant woman in Seattle, and murdered her. Instead of just executing him, the state wasted three years “evaluating” him before reaching a plea deal acquitting him for “insanity,” so now millions of dollars can be spent “rehabilitating” him so that later left-wing activists can work for his release in the hopes he will get to do more drugs and kill somebody again.

@weathertrader Winter was exceptionally dry across much of the Eastern U.S. with the cold Arctic flow in control. The Polar Vortex wasn't exactly dealing with a lot of moisture. Alas, we're going to turn the spicket on full blast for the next 1-2 weeks with boatloads of Gulf moisture/rain

Warmth stays through next week with over 226 million at least 70°F on Monday, and over 100 million hitting 80°F on March 9th. That will definitely set daily record highs! We deserve this spring weather whether it's false or not! Update @weathertrader weather.substack.com/p/march-4-2026…

Primary voter turnout averages about 14% in Texas. We can do a lot better than that. Remind your family, friends, and neighbors to get out and vote over the next two weeks. Early voting runs Feb 17 – 27. Election Day is March 3. I’m proud of my record as your congressman: ✅ Reimbursing Texas $11 billion for border security operations under the disastrous Biden Administration. ✅ Securing over $200 million in federal funds to protect TX-02 communities from flooding. ✅ Leading the fight alongside President Trump against the Mexican cartels. ✅ Passing legislation to ban taxpayer funding for gender transition procedures on minors. ✅ Passing breakthrough research for therapies to cure veterans with PTSD and TBI.   But our work is far from over. @GregAbbott_TX Why are you FOR open primaries? Big mistake. If someone plans to vote for a democrat, they shouldn't be voting in the Republican primary. In any case, they should absolutely be showing their ID before voting in ANY election.

I was getting very tiny flurries off and on for most of the day in Cypress. We do have a manmade lake behind and upwind of us, but it's tiny in comparison to Lake Conroe or Lake Houston. That said, you can visibly see moisture rising off of it at times. Is it possible that these tiny specs originated from that, or are they most likely from the clouds?

I met with leadership at Axiom Space yesterday to discuss the development of their spacesuit. It was great to see their facilities and all the progress. I shared with them exactly what I told our HLS providers: NASA will do all we can to help them accelerate and meet the timelines, with plenty of schedule margin to spare. As an agency, we must be willing to challenge the requirements and not let an hour go by on a problem we can solve today. This is imperative to achieving the President’s national space policy.

@NWSHouston For future reference, tell me if I submitted the correct mPing report for conditions in Cypress at ~2:30 AM. Very heavy precipitation with thunder. The precip was maybe 20% sleet and 80% liquid. Some of the liquid portion was forming a glaze on trees and elevated surfaces, but most of it ran off onto the ground. I submitted a P-type of mixed sleet & freezing rain, even though the majority remained liquid and ran off onto the ground. Had none of it been freezing into a glaze, I would've called it mixed sleet & rain. Did I get it right? Later rounds of precip were similar, but with increasing sleet amounts. I recorded 0.79" of liquid precip in the form of sleet, freezing rain and rain after the temp reached 32. Of that, <0.10" froze into a glaze on elevated surfaces. We also went back above freezing at times between 3AM and 7AM, so some of it melted before refreezing when we dropped into the mid-20s.
