A shocking 6.3 crore fraud case has come to light in Karnataka. The scammers used the name of Infosys Limited to trick a company. Here’s what happened👇 A man named Gagan N Deep contacted officials of Mysore Mercantile Company Limited. He claimed he was a senior official from Infosys handling CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds. He told them Infosys was planning to fund social welfare projects run by their charitable trust. To make the story believable, the scammers sent fake emails, documents, and agreements that looked official. They said certain processing charges, deposits and project expenses had to be paid first before the CSR funds could be released. Trusting the proposal, the company transferred money in multiple transactions. Over time, the payments added up to 6.3 crore. But the promised CSR funds never arrived. When the company tried to follow up, the communication stopped. That’s when they realised something was wrong. After checking with the real Infosys team, they discovered the truth - no such CSR program or officials existed. The company then filed a complaint with the police. Authorities in Bengaluru have now registered a case for: • Cheating • Forgery • Criminal conspiracy Important point: Infosys itself has no role in the fraud. The scammers only used the company’s name to gain trust. Police are now investigating the network behind the scam.
