Lots of continuing coverage about the Save Act and how its clauses and requirements will suppress votes - especially of people with lower incomes, disabled people, married women, people without passports, etc. There's some coverage of an even worse aspect of the Save Act - the fact that it sends voter rolls to the Feds. BUT - seldom spoken about is the REAL reason Trump loves it. If the Save Act was enacted, countless people would show up to the polls on Election Day and find out, on the spot, that they are suddenly ineligible or have been purged. THAT'S what needs to be spoken about more, because THAT'S what the Save Act REALLY is: It's a way to guaranty chaos on Election Day so that Trump can declare an emergency and take a step that could end Democracy as we know it.

There are no ‘checks and balances’ here to be had. There is constitutional fidelity. Period. Americans want and need, verifiably proven American citizens only registered to vote, and ONLY American citizens, matched up by VoterID as eligible to cast their vote ON Election Day, not three weeks after. It’s easy, it’s basic, it’s proper, it does not “suppress”, it ensures integrity in our elections! @RonFilipkowski Trump's already said he's not signing anything until Congress passes his "Save America Act", which would result in mass voter suppression, which is an insurmountable "NO" from Democrats. The only way DHS gets funded now is a veto override.

It’s constitutional and proper. There is no reason to thwart its mission. There WAS reason for EXTRA funding for ICE after the mass invasion allowed under Biden, whose administration completely violated their constitutional role in enforcing our democratically-established immigration laws.

@RonFilipkowski It’s a game, why not just put forward legislation to limit ICE or defund it altogether? Why attach to something else? Immigration enforcement is popular and no one wants to be on record against it.

It’s a non-starter. ICE is a constitutionally important force doing its constitutionally mandated role. ICE is already funded for a couple more years anyway. There is no compromise to be had with communists who openly admitted to illegal aliens being a higher priority than American citizens. This is ALL Democrats using People as pawns…. And their own legions agree with VoterID well over 70%! (And yes, it’s very basic. Any “requirement AT ALL would be labeled as “voter suppression”. In California, even showing ID AT ALL is attacked.
