Details on how PlayStation helped with Lost Soul Aside development! via @zoadssjgod - Started as a indie/ AA scale project but help from PlayStation China Hero Project helped push the scope to a AAA level. - Began as a one person project by Yang Bing - 10 year long development is due to the team struggling because of lack of full game development experience - After receiving support from Sony the team’s skills and overall development situation improved - They were able to expand the art direction, characters, story and combat system with the extra resources. - Gameplay was adjusted, balanced and optimized based on feedback from SIE and play tests. - Was a PS4 game and then shifted to PS5 only. - Graphics were upgraded and optimized with help from the China Hero Project team. - The team considered moving engine to UE4, but after talking to SIE and the technical team decided it was best to stick with the latest version of UE4.
