As someone who just finished a PhD in China, this is brilliant news from China's Education system this week.
China now has their first ever 100% foreign university running independently without any local Chinese partner. Big news as more foreign students can study here in China and also let Chinese learn at a 'foreign' uni
It’s a German one in Hainan & they said they will enroll 800 students from 25 provinces of China this year as well as international students too.
Compare it to what the west is doing rn.. total opposite. US keeps shrinking its Education Department and recently investigating top medical schools over their international students, yet China is doing something much smarter by actually opening up selectively, but in a way that pulls in foreign curricula and foreign teaching models which can link to foreign companies too for internships etc..
People still say China are “closed”, and sure they can be in some places, but only where it thinks it should defend itself like national security/social stability, but it's genuinely extremely open, more so than the US/UK etc on things on things where China thinks it can upgrade faster, i.e. education/AI/tech

The China-Pakistan just released 5-points on the war on Iran is as lame as it gets:
1️⃣ Immediate ceasefire & humanitarian access to all affected areas
2️⃣ Early peace talks; respect for sovereignty of Iran & Gulf states; diplomacy over force

4️⃣ Security of shipping lanes, especially the Strait of Hormuz
5️⃣ Strengthening role of the United Nations & a UN Charter-based peace framework
