Some say George Floyd died from having the weight of a mans knee on his neck for 9 minutes
Some say George Floyd died from an overdose of all the drugs that were in his system impacting his respiratory function
It's an issue that is very much influenced by partisan, social justice, and racial biases.
If George Floyd was white, and Derek Chauvin was black, a lot of the very same people would have completely flipped opinions.
In both directions.
I am not wrong.

@donwinslow That is so cool, you get to sit in on top secret briefings on iran. So, in the know. You have no clue, what really goes on...

@ezzyskii There is a transition mechanism for Section 8/HCV) program, which applies in Florida (administered locally by Public Housing Agencies or PHAs). It is not exactly a “grace period” but rather an adjustment process plus a 180-day buffer if your subsidy reaches zero.
English

This is what people mean when they say that poverty is systemic and a class issue, and not because of personal choices.

This Florida mom was in tears as because she was losing her Section 8 housing assistance after starting a new job: “I feel like I got punished for trying and getting a job”

@WalshFreedom We have a First Lady who got an Einstein Visa with someone's help and is here illegally.
#Trump #Immigration #ICE #DOJ
English

MAGA: “If you’re here legally, you have nothing to worry about.”
Also MAGA: “Just comply and show your ID.”
The reality:
A U.S. citizen. Born in Colorado. Mother of four. Stopped in Lafayette, Louisiana. Shackled. Detained in an ICE facility anyway.
She showed agents her state-issued ID and Social Security card. ICE reportedly called them “fake,” handcuffed her, chained her ankles, interrogated her, and transported her to a detention center. She was released hours later only after legal intervention.
The lesson is not “show your papers.”
The lesson is that papers don’t protect you when power decides not to read them.
This is not “law and order.”
This is state abuse.

@SageAmenti @clarencehilljr You need to read the comments. You are wrong
English

@clarencehilljr When you support Donald Trump, this is what you stand for. You don't like him because he's a great businessman or a straightshooter. You like him because he's a racist. Any Black person supporting or normalizing this man should not be able to look themselves in the mirror.
English

@Hania16836 Just because you can't find a good man don't try and make an excuse by lumping all men, just like you don't want to be lumped in as a woman.
English

@Jerkstore723 @OfficialDesiree Claims that Leon Trotsky coined it in the 1920s–1930s are incorrect for English; earlier uses predate him, and French equivalents like raciste existed in the late 19th century (e.g., around 1895–1897 in French writings).
English

@OfficialDesiree Not knowing it’s just another made up Jew slur is truly a sign of low intelligence.

@revengescores Let me know when the veterans start flipping out because every time they see a store or website that doesn’t adorn itself with USA and MIA flags come November.

The final spellbinding minute of Secretary Hegseth’s Memorial Day address will leave you with chills if you listen closely.
Hegseth delivered a powerful vow of remembrance to honor those that paid the ultimate price.
HEGSETH: “Today, with this humble ceremony, we owe at least this, that with every salute, with every ceremony, with every parade, with every prayer, every day, and every year, we remember.”
“That by our remembrance we guard the eternal flame that they lit with the price of their youth.”
“They were Americans from small towns and big cities.”
“And in the words of the Apostle Paul, they stood against the darkness of the world, wearing the breastplate of righteousness.”
“They’ve now gone on to their reward, but we remember them here on this hallowed ground. To them, to those I say, your watch is finished, but the legacy of what you left is eternal.”
“You raced to the breach so that we could walk in freedom and prosperity.”
“May we live lives worthy of their sacrifice and boldly carry forth their fight for freedom, picking up the sword of the spirit and charging forward daily.”
“May Almighty God bless our warriors, and may Almighty God bless our fallen and those they love.”
“Always remember and amen.”

@TheBrianShapiro You guys cheered when Charlie Kirk was assassinated....

In MAGA land, it is " embarrassing and pathetic " to show empathy for a man who was murdered.

Never forget how Mayor Jacob Frey cried at George Floyd’s casket!! Embarrassing and pathetic.

Don’t turn a career criminal like George Floyd into a martyr. He doesn’t deserve an ounce of remembrance.
Honor this man instead: David Dorn.
A hero who served his community and his country faithfully for 38 years as a police officer … fatally shot on duty 6/2/2020.
Remember the real fallen hero’s. The ones who actually protected us.🇺🇸

VP Vance, a Marine veteran, just had some BEAUTIFUL words for Gold Star Families at Arlington today
"The good life that I have and that my family have is fundamentally because YOU paid a debt that I can never repay. I'll never forget their smiling faces. I'll never forget their skill and bravery in battle."
"I'll never forget that all the moments that I'm able to have with my family, they're not able to have with theirs.
And most of all, know from every American, across every political persuasion, that we love you, we're grateful to you, we're proud of you, and we commit to make the United States of America the very best version of itself.
And that is how we honor those who gave their lives to this country." 🇺🇸

Meet Captain Jeffrey Little, a devout Christian and member of the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Lifeguard Division. He was reportedly SUSPENDED from his job after he refused to raise rainbow Pride flags for Pride Month.
Little initially asked for a religious accommodation, which the county reportedly initially approved before revoking it two days later.
He is now suing the Los Angeles County for religious discrimination and harassment.
