"You didn't ask. You saw a black face and a window and you saw a criminal." This scene from Grey’s Anatomy still hits just as hard today. The reality of "projected threats" vs. protocol. 🧵👇

I like medical shows but really hate the interpersonal relationships and non-medical drama. I have a love/hate relationship with this show. At the end of each episode I think to myself “I can’t believe they did that!” And yet I just have to tune into the next episode to see what happens. Omg, this is a psychological addiction…..paging Dr. Charles...

@BuzzPatterson So I have questions bc this kind of funeral I’ve never prepared for. How would burial work? What exactly happens now? You can’t collect what’s left and if so it would be minimal. I’m really curious as to the what happens now part.

@TheEXECUTlONER_ Stops it from getting copper stolen by Tweakers. Dozens on average die every summer from these units falling on them or being electrocuted when they land in the pool. Most often to seasonal visitors. It’s why we deter others from moving here.

This man is in Phoenix, Arizona visiting his daughter. It is 108* there!🥵 He noticed this unit on top of her house and wondered why it isn’t on the ground like most houses. He asked her and she said that was the way it was when they bought the house. Why would this be on top of the roof? I’ve lived in 5 different states and never seen them on the roof. And notice how big it is, it’s huge! Why would they be on the roof? What’s the reasoning? And 108*? Are people really digging a 108* weather? Could you handle that?

Frontier Airlines A321, Flight 4345, struck and killed a pedestrian on DEN Runway 17L last night during its takeoff roll. The person had just jumped the perimeter fence and ran onto the active runway. The individual was hit about two minutes later near the mid-field area, far from the terminal in the outer perimeter section. The crew aborted the takeoff near V1. A brief engine fire occurred due to ingestion, followed by smoke in the cabin. Everyone evacuated safely via slides, with 12 minor injuries reported. Officials say it was a deliberate trespass. This tragic incident raises serious security questions. The NTSB and FAA are investigating. Engine aftermath👇🏻

Another video, showing the aftermath. Note the cabin evacuation was one of the factors that contributed to the high fatality rate, which included passengers that carried their luggage during the emergency.

Russia raises children from birth inside fake American towns deep in Siberia. American food. American TV. American holidays. Perfect Midwestern accents drilled in by native speakers brought in for the job. The kids grow up never knowing they are Russian. When they hit their early twenties, the SVR sends them to a cemetery in Canada or the United States, finds a baby who died young with no surviving relatives, and pulls a duplicate birth certificate in that dead child's name. The agent gets a real Social Security number, a real passport, a real identity. They walk into America as an American citizen who legally exists. Then they live a normal life. Real estate agent. Suburban dad. PTA mom. Consulting firm partner. For ten, fifteen, twenty years. Until one day the radio crackles a coded sequence, or a stranger on the subway whispers a phrase only their handler would know, and the sleeper wakes up. This is what former CIA officer John Kiriakou just told Steven Bartlett happens, and the case file is wilder than the story. In June 2010, the FBI rolled up ten of these agents across Boston, Yonkers, suburban New Jersey, and Northern Virginia in Operation Ghost Stories. They had been watching them for more than a decade. One couple, posing as Canadian, had been in Cambridge, Massachusetts long enough to put one kid through high school and into college. The husband held a Harvard MPA. The wife sold houses through Redfin. Their two sons were born in Toronto and grew up believing they were Canadian. When the FBI raided the home, the kids found out their parents were Russian intelligence officers from the agents' own arrest warrants. One agent's mission was to cultivate a venture capitalist who co-chaired Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign. The intelligence target Moscow assigned her: details about the global gold market. The cash drops the SVR buried in the woods to fund her operations sat unrecovered in the dirt for two years before another sleeper dug them up. The agents communicated with Moscow through invisible ink, dead drops in suburban parks, radiograms beamed across the Atlantic on shortwave frequencies, and steganography hidden inside vacation photos. Press Control-Alt-E on the right JPEG, type a 27-character password, and the message decrypts. The same toolkit the KGB used in the 1960s, still operational in the 2010s. When the swap happened in Vienna on July 9, 2010, Russia traded ten of these agents for four Western-handled assets, including the GRU colonel later poisoned with novichok in Salisbury. Putin met the returnees personally at the Kremlin, sang the Soviet anthem "Where the Motherland Begins" with them, and placed them in elite positions. The lead Cambridge agent now teaches international relations at MGIMO and consults for Rosneft. His wife writes spy novels and lectures on networking at the Orator Club in Moscow. The program has been running continuously since the 1920s. The current generation is already deployed. Two more illegals were exposed in Slovenia in 2022, posing as Argentine art dealers, with their two young children also in the dark. One was caught in Norway. One was caught in Brazil. The scariest part is not that the sleepers exist. It is that the program has been running for a hundred years, the FBI has known about it for decades, and Moscow keeps replacing the burned agents faster than the West can find the new ones. Right now, somewhere in suburban America, a kid is at soccer practice. Their dad is making dinner. The radio is on in the kitchen. Both of them are waiting for the phrase.

Despite all the pressure and violence I liked the composure of the Hondo and how he shielded the kids to make sure they stayed safe. That said, It's also refreshing to see a premiere episode with grounded story revolving around Hondo and the rest of 20-Squad in LA.

Pictures of the 'spaceport' in Nova Scotia have been circulating. A lot of people are making fun of the facility for being, how to put this delicately, a bit basic; others, who don't know what polar orbits are, are saying that the facility is too far from the equator to be useful. These are very stupid criticisms. That does not mean that there are not many causes for serious concern. The company that operates the 'spaceport', Maritime Launch Facilities, is receiving $200M from the Canadian government to lease the facility over the next ten years. MLS itself rents the land, which is crown land, from the provincial government for $13,500 per year. A cynical person might suggest that the government is paying $200 million for something that they could essentially do for free. MLS itself is staffed partly by Ukrainians who are up to their eyeballs in various corrupt scams. Everything they've been involved in has been a fiasco, and they've been taken to court by NASA. The CEO and CFO are being compensated with about a million dollars a year, total: 5% of the budget is being spent on two people. MLS does not build or launch rockets itself, and has no plans to do so. It is supposedly going to work on an airport model. In 2025 the company lost $47M, with revenue of less than $15,000. Where did that money go? It doesn't seem to have actually resulted in anything getting built. As it turns out the $47M loss is probably a one-time thing due to MLS acquiring another company, Spaceport Canada; but before this, MLS was burning $6M-$9M per year, apparently mostly on executive compensation, documentation for a Ukrainian rocket that never got built and which they'd already abadoned, and interest on investor debt. Okay, so where are the actual rockets coming from? There are three Canadian companies supposedly developing orbital launch capability: Nordspace, Reaction Dynamics, and the generic sounding Canada Rocket Company. Very little appears to be known about the latter. The first two look legitimate, they seem to have actually developed rockets at least. However, they are shockingly undercapitalized for launch companies. It looks like they've raised a few tens of millions of dollars between them, via private investment and a paltry $8M government grant. For context, Musk founded SpaceX with a $100M of PayPal money. Sums like that are table stakes, and Canadian launch companies are operating at an order of magnitude less. So Carney's government just threw its cronies $200M for an empty concrete pad on land the Canadian government already owns, while scattering spare change towards the companies actually building rockets that could use it. This, apparently, is Canada's 'sovereign launch capability' initiative, and it looks a whole hell of lot like just another grift by connected Liberal Party insiders and their ethnic crime partners to siphon off hundreds of millions from the Canadian public without actually producing anything. I hope I'm wrong about that. I hope I'm being too cynical. I would love nothing more than for Canada to have an actual space program. But it looks really bad. halifaxexaminer.ca/commentary/eve…
