💢 Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon on Tuesday killed at least 19 people and wounded dozens more, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry as reported by Al Jazeera’s correspondent. An Israeli strike on Deir Kanoun Nahr, a town in the Tyre district near Lebanon’s Mediterranean coast, killed 10 people, including three children and three women. Additional strikes killed four people in Nabatiyeh, the largest city in southern Lebanon and a major regional hub, and five more in Kfar Sir, a nearby town in the Nabatieh Governorate. In Hanouiyeh, southeast of Tyre, 10 people were wounded, one critically, while seven others, including women and children, were wounded in Marakeh, another town in the Tyre district. 🎥 Maria Deebo was one of ten family members killed. ⬇️

Discussion in Israel's most "liberal" TV news channel: - "BTW, there's a great view in Gaza, right?" - "An open view to the sea" - "No sky scrapers" - "There's stadiums, and a lot of open land" - "Many parking lots" - "Stop, people will end up translating this"

The Financial Times reports Israel has seized or established control over roughly 1,015 sq. km of territory since the war began — about 5% the size of Israel itself — including 576 sq. km in south Lebanon, 233 sq. km in Syria, and 206 sq. km inside Gaza through the army’s ever-expanding so-called “yellow line.” Israel today bombed and severed a water line serving recently displaced Palestinians in eastern Khan Younis in areas controlled by the Palestinian authorities. “It was empty land. We don’t know why they bombed,” a displaced Palestinian told Reuters.

Israel killed Nasser Ibrahim Nasr while he was loading bread into a municipal vehicle to distribute to local residents in Harouf. Israel then bombed the vehicle itself. In this criminal doctrine, even bread becomes a target. Feeding civilians is treated as an offense punishable by assassination. Another Municipality employee Haj Jaffar al-Shami was also injured in the attack.

South Lebanon - 19th of May: A new night under Israeli terror. At midnight, Israeli war jets attacked a building adjacent to the Islamic Unity Mosque in the Maachouk area near Tyre, South Lebanon, while residents were asleep. The site lies beside a medical clinic providing healthcare services to local civilians, while the mosque itself has long been known for promoting messages of unity and social cohesion. People had to evacuate their houses with their kids after waking up on screams and ambulances alarms. The night agression adds to ongoing Israeli violations and intimidation tactics against our people despite the fictional American sponsored ceasefire.
Hadi Hoteit | هادي حطيط@HadiHtt

At 1:00 AM!! The terrorist spokesman of the Israeli entity army releases an evacuation threat to tge people of Tyre. Attacking empty buildings in the middle of the night is an example of how Israelis understand terror as a systematic process to achieve their political goals.

Very ugly warcrime in Nabatieh against our history: Israeli warplanes struck the historic Saray district in the city of Nabatieh, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency, targeting a neighborhood that contains traditional markets, heritage homes, and an old mosque deeply tied to the city’s historical identity. The attack caused widespread destruction across the old quarter, damaging civilian shops, residential buildings, and cultural landmarks in one of southern Lebanon’s best known heritage town. Residents describe the Saray neighborhood as a living historical center of Nabatieh, where generations of families have lived and worked. The strike adds to systematic Israeli attacks hitting civilian and cultural infrastructure across southern Lebanon.

Apocalyptic scenes from Tyre this afternoon. Terrified children emerging through smoke & rubble after another vicious wave of Israeli strikes hit residential neighbourhoods. Homes shattered. Streets buried in debris. Families running through clouds of dust carrying children in their arms. The areas struck are well-known civilian residential districts. And still this is all cynically packaged and justified as targeting “Hezbollah infrastructure.”

💢Israel just targeted a residential building in the al-Rimal neighborhood and a car in Al-Wahda street in Gaza City. At least three Palestinians were killed and 30 wounded, according to Al Jazeera. Israel earlier said it targeted Izz al-Din al-Haddad, the commander of the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas. Hamas has not commented on the strikes so far. 🎥 Video by Mohammed Ahmed

WOW! @Theintercept reviewed more than 12000 print articles and 5000 TV segments to check for biases on Israel-Palestine. I thought it would be bad. I had no idea it was THIS bad. No wonder Gaza killed what little credibility mianstream media had. In NYT, Israel's right to defend itself was invoked 99 times. Only once for Palestine. On CNN and MSNBC, it was invoked 755 times for Israel. But only 8 times for Palestine. Emotive words such as slaughter and massacre were used frequently when Israelis had been killed. They were NEVER used in print when Palestinians were killed. In Ukraine, 262 children were killed in the war, and it was mentioned 4223 times. In Palestine, more than 10,000 children were killed, but it was mentioned only 3632. The full article is in the subtweet. It's a MUST READ:

⭕️ NEW: Israeli Residents Say IDF Deleted Parts of Their October 7 Security Footage — Israel Hayom Residents of Kibbutz Be’eri say a classified IDF reserve unit seized their security camera recordings on October 9, 2023, promised to return them intact, then broadcast some footage without consent — and returned the materials with portions allegedly deleted, Israel Hayom reported. The unit, composed of veterans from Sayeret Matkal, Shayetet 13, and other elite units, collected visual materials across Gaza border communities in the hours after October 7. Sources say the footage helped produce Israel’s internationally screened “atrocities film” and identify hostages. “The decisions to delete materials were made ‘under fluorescent lights’ — it’s a conscious decision, not one made in the chaos of combat,” one Be’eri source said. “The day will come when an investigative commission is established. The fewer witnesses there are, the less damage certain people in the military will sustain.” The IDF did not respond to the report.

Hussein Jaber was always the first person to greet us when we arrived at Nabatieh’s temporary Civil Defence center. Always humorous and light-hearted despite the danger of his job. He wasn’t there to greet us today because he was killed in an Israeli strike yesterday, along with his colleague Ahmad Noura. Instead we were met by his colleagues: red-eyed & sobbing as they prepared for his funeral. I’m not sure who of them will be still be alive the next time we visit Nabatieh. That’s the reality.

Israel is running a network of torture camps for Palestinians. Our reports, Welcome to Hell and Hell on Earth, extensively documented a reality of extreme violence, starvation, and torture. Now, in a major @nytimes investigation, journalist @NickKristof published terrible testimonies concerning sexual violence and the use of sodomy as a tool of interrogation and humiliation by Israeli forces. Palestinian prisoners are subjected to severe violence, deliberate humiliation, starvation, sleep deprivation, denial of medical care, and abuse in every facility where they are held. These abusive practices are fully backed by the political leadership, which openly boasts about the harsh prison conditions. Some inmates are subjected to severe sexual assaults. At least 88 Palestinians have died in Israeli detention facilities since October 2023 as a result of inhumane conditions, violence, starvation, and the denial of medical treatment. Despite the extensive evidence, media investigations, and reports issued by Israeli and international organizations documenting torture in Israeli prisons, the international community continues to stand by and allow Israel to commit crimes against the Palestinian people. This is footage of a true hero. Despite the danger, Hussein Jaber, killed by Israel today, never stopped carrying out his duty. I will fight anyone in the comments trying to justify his killing. This is a war crime. He was killed in a targeted strike while attempting to rescue people injured in a previous attack. There is no “but Hezbollah”. The Lebanese Civil Defence operates under the Ministry of Interior. It is not politically affiliated.

Journalist @HadiHtt is doing what nobody else is doing in the south of Lebanon in the English language. This is incredible reporting from his home Doueir which has come under heavy bombardment, with an ambulance hit in a drone strike as he was filming on the ground. The work of @TVFreePalestine is unique and incredibly important in documenting the many war crimes being committed by the I$raeli’s. I encourage all of you to support them.

Under Zionist Fire: Civilians, Journalists & Paramedics While @HadiHtt was reporting on the latest bombing of his hometown Doueir that devastated its historic centre, a drone strike targeted nearby civil defence workers with two missiles, killing and wounding civilians. Systematic attacks on medical teams and journalists in South Lebanon have continued since the start of the Zionist aggression in 2024. More than 9 journalists and 103 civil defence workers and paramedics have been deliberately killed, including the latest two medics murdered just this morning.
