Okay, I need some input from people on an upcoming project idea. I am trying to decide what works better for the "terminus module" for my train. Do I just make the end with one switch to allow me to shove cars? Or do I make it with two switches and the blue area holds the engine?

@campyWHY @Pogue Agreed. Or, most phones film in high enough resolution that you could just zoom out, film the scene "square", and crop as needed in post.

@Pogue if someone records a V video clip that pans across an area, won't that give Ai enough info to accurately extend to H? in cases where genAi fills in H areas without enough info, I'd prefer the filled areas to be blurry so that the viewer knows it's synthetic

@garrytan One of the issues, like it or not, is that many neighborhoods have height moratoriums to prevent someone from building a 30-story skyscraper, blocking the view. Not to mention, parking in the city is a joke, and the same with MUNI, so... How do you get around?

🫀Now that’s it’s been revealed that Senator Lindsey Graham died of an aortic dissection, I wanted to provide some clarity as to what it is (and isn’t). As you see👇, the aorta is like the water main, a huge artery that sends oxygenated blood to the entire body. It’s under extreme pressure - every time the heart beats, it expands a little and has to withstand the force of blood pumping. To do this, it has to be elastic - able to bounce back after being stretched. In some individuals with atherosclerotic disease (hardening of arteries), the inner aorta wall becomes hardened. Imagine a very old rubber band that is brittle and crumbles when you stretch it rather than stretching and bouncing back. The aorta wall crumbles slightly, allowing blood under high pressure to make its way between the inner and outer walls of the aorta. After just a few heartbeats (insufficient time to really do much about it in many cases), the blood peels the inner and outer walls of the aorta away from one another, causing it to burst. I’ve treated a patient with it - and he didn’t make it. It’s tough to survive. How to avoid this? Tough to detect in advance that it’ll happen. So… Eat well (including fatty fish with Omega 3’a), lower your cholesterol, keep your blood pressure normal (exercise and weight loss help a lot). May Senator Graham rest in peace.

@houmanhemmati Another potential cause is Marfan syndrome. I only know this because I had an ultrasound to check for a thinned aorta. Thankfully, that came back negative, but it's something that still haunts me sometimes.

Grande Fire AM Update: The Grande Fire is at 31.9 acres with 50% containment. Evacuation orders in the area will be lifted. Crews worked in steep terrain overnight coordinating with our UAS / Drone operators to identify and mop up hotspots. Throughout the day, firefighters will continue mop-up efforts and improve control lines. @houmanhemmati @MayorOfLA @KarenBassLA Smoke is bad, but wood smoke is peanuts compared to the stuff that comes from burning buildings, with all the plastics in there. A few whiffs of that in a strong enough concentration can kill you. It's why smoke inhalation is SUCH a big deal with modern fires.

@MakeItWithCal @OSHCutInc Yeah it would. But the customizability of it means that there is definitely going to be a whole marketplace for aftermarket Slate mods and add-ons, and we'll be making them. I'm certain of it.

I predict that @OSHCutInc will be making a LOT of custom-build parts for the Slate truck.
