As a born-and-raised New Yorker who was here on that beautiful, clear September morning in 2001, this garbage from Candace Owens hits like a punch to the gut all over again. That beautiful September morning turned into clouds of gray that would hang over our city and our entire country for years to come. Pretty much everyone in New York knew someone who died in the World Trade Center. Neighbors, friends, coworkers, family, nearly 3,000 lives ripped away in an instant, with over 2,700 of those right here in the city from the towers alone. My husband was NYPD at the time, a first responder who ran toward the chaos like so many others did. He lost brothers, sister's, good men and women, heroes, who never came home. He's never been the same, and all I can do as his wife, is pray for his continued health. He's buried countless brothers to cancer and other 9/11 related diseases. The 9/11 attack was over in one day, but it still kills today! The Port Authority Police Department suffered the single biggest loss of law enforcement in American history that day. 37 officers killed while trying to save lives in those buildings. That's why he transferred to the Port Authority later, to honor them, to keep carrying the torch for the ones who didn't make it back. And now, this woman has the audacity to claim Netanyahu and "the Jews" orchestrated it all? Absolute vile lies. This is a tired, debunked antisemitic conspiracy theory that's been proven false a thousand times! Yet here is Candace Owens grifting on it. al-Qaeda did this, led by Osama bin Laden. Not Israel. Not some shadow conspiracy. This is just a grift, plain and simple. Her post is engineered to provoke your rage, to bait you into replying in anger, reposting it in fury, or even just bookmarking it so you come back later seething. Every single engagement, your likes, quotes, replies, views, puts money in this lunatic's pocket through algorithms, ads, subscriptions, whatever grift machine she's running now. It's disgusting.
