@Jeff_Mans took a risk and snagged Spears, Boutte, Franklin, and Harvey to get me through the bye week. Appreciate your guidance and weekly rankings. Keep up the good work man

@RougeAnalyst @miljan0x Kompete is doing just fine. Even after declining to pay influencers to shill it. Still strong development team with an actual product you can play

I got married last month, and spent the furthest time away from work during that period and the honeymoon Unplugging while we broke ATHs really helped me reflect on what I’ve learned up until this milestone and what’s important to me in life I wanted to share this publicly mostly to document my thoughts. I hope it’s helpful but it’s not intended to be life advice or anything like that. Just my own musings which include some stories, quotes, and pictures here and there.

Just finished watching Dr. Carmody's YouTube videos. You can't find a better in depth analysis of the recent USMLE scandal—mathematically proven and so many of the questions are answered. They should make a documentary from this. @jbcarmody

@mattdinniman new achievement! You tweeted at the author of your favorite book in a feeble attempt to join the closed kickstarter. Your rewaaaaard? Nothing! Like turning in late homework- you get the satisfaction that at least you tried (May I somehow still join?)

Does every new attending experience as much decision fatigue as I currently have? I can’t even choose between still and sparkling by the time I get home.

To me, what’s most striking is the increase in research output by *unmatched* applicants. Today’s unsuccessful applicants are still do more research than successful applicants from even just a few years ago. It’s an arms race, pure and simple. e.g., for orthopedic surgery:

Over a decade, research abstracts/papers in residency applications have increased 2-3x!! No one wins in this kind of "arms race" 👎👎👎 Average applicant abstract/papers by specialty: Neurosurg: 24 Derm: 19 Rad Onc: 18 by @Abdul_K_Ahmed @eadashi jamanetwork.com/journals/jamas…

I have had a lot of DMs As way of context, a 🧵 1) Any health professional doing an invasive procedure should be able to deal with complications particularly life-threatening ones. If they cant pt lives are put at risk I trained full time for 3 yrs, did >1000 first opertor procedures as a trainee, to be able to undertake PCI. If there is coronary obstruction- the operator needs to be trained in PCI or the pt will die. You need to be able to do this in 1 or 2 minutes, same with pericardiocentesis. A nurse does not have the necessary training to deal with these complications, manage the pt pre and post procedure.
Mamas A. Mamas@mmamas1973

@GHCardiology this is so inappropriate on so many levels. Being a TAVR operator is not just about deploying a valve, but working up the pt for the optimal mx of their AS, managing the patient prior to procedure and dealing with complications. This is not safe for patients particularly given that there are numerous TAVI trained medically qualified operators in UK. You have also taken away training opportunities for medical / surgical trainees. @ncurzen @Ryvetsprog @pomyers @SVRaoMD @GreggWStone @VictorDayan1 @Hragy @mirvatalasnag @tavrkapadia @TAVRBot @TheBJCA @BCIS_uk @TCTMD @ajaykirtane @EAPCIPresident @alaide_chief
