THREAD 🧵- The Blood Libel: There is a coordinated antisemitic propaganda campaign by the anti-Israel movement — led these days by Iran, the Palestinians, and Qatar — to spin a narrative that the Gaza war is not just a genocide, but that Israel is intentionally carrying out a genocide against the children of Gaza, trying to intentionally murder young kids.  This is a centuries old blood libel that holds that Jews craved the blood of non-Jewish children -- often times back in the day -- for Jewish rituals.

A Louisiana immigration judge ruled Friday that activist Mahmoud Khalil can be deported. Secretary of State Marco Rubio determined that Khalil had engaged in "antisemitic protests and disruptive activities, which foster a hostile environment for Jewish students in the U.S." In an undated 2-page memo submitted to the court, Rubio detailed that on March 7 he got information about Khalil from the Department of Homeland Security and as a result he determined that allowing Khalil to remain in the country would undermine a U.S. foreign policy goal of combating antisemitism around the world. Judge Jamee Comans said Friday that she had no authority to question Rubio's determination. Khalil will not immediately be deported. His attorneys have said that if he were ordered deported, they would appeal the judge's ruling. Comans gave Khalil until April 23 to request a stay of his deportation if his attorneys believe he qualifies for one. And the judge said if they don't meet that deadline, she will order him deported either to Syria, where he was born, or to Algeria, where he is a citizen. As I’ve written and mentioned before, federal courts will give a lot of deference to the executive branch when it comes to determining  immigration and security risks to the country. Even if this goes up to the Supreme Court, which it could given that it is a question of executive authority, Khalil is likely to be deported. And he should be happy to be deported and go back to his beloved Syria and Algeria, where they also foment jihad and and adhere to Islamic Fundamentalist views,  instead of living in America -- a country he has only been residing in for 2+ years, and a country that he only came to in order to try and wage jihad and dismantle.

Is it cowardice? Stupidity? Pure antisemitism? Apparently, the name of #Israel has become unspeakable within parts of the US intelligentsia. And my book, “Israel Alone” is a victim of this censorship. I won’t let this disgrace go unchallenged. wsj.com/opinion/my-fir…

Malala Yousafzai risked her life for her right to be educated. But the abridged version of her memoir, "Malala: My story of Standing Up For Girls’ Rights," has been banned in multiple states simply because it was challenged as part of a list of diverse books.

"Book banning has been the refuge of leaders who fear their arguments and writs cannot withstand scrutiny. Its violence is born of weakness. We are not a weak people–fighting book bans is an act of patriotism and a show of strength” - Julianna Margulies bit.ly/3Gvk8VF
