@MariaColuccioMD the tip is very soft and large, less aggressive than a white occlusive Fogarty. Very useful for rupture case when you have to insert promptly and avoid iliac dissection. Bonus you can flush through heparin or check back flow. And top bonus very cheap and off the shelf in any OR😀

For the viewing pleasure of my Derm and Plastics colleagues...Two FNPs in Yakima, WA with a Dermatology clinic. Mind you, there are no accredited Derm programs for NPs in the U.S. and no specific requirements. FNPs have no business performing surgeries, even in an unsupervised

@Emaperidol Same! 1st rotation of MS3 (3 years ago now), I dx a coinfection w/ lyme and babesiosis b/c my patient had pancytopenia & wasn’t improving on just doxy. My senior resident humored me & we checked the smear! Still tell my med students 2 prove that they’re important team members.

I diagnosed Babesiosis once just by looking at a blood smear and I never let anyone forget about it. It's been 4 years. I still text the attending who was on call with me that day "Remember when I diagnosed babesiosis? How cool was that?" about 8 times a year.
