My response to an article you may have seen today: There's no excuse for these posts -- they're vulgar, stupid, and reflect a version of me in my early twenties that I’m ashamed of and have thankfully evolved past. When a reporter sent me these posts, I was horrified to see my use of language toward women and about a faith that my family, friends, and millions of Utahns practice.
I won’t minimize what I wrote, and I believe every candidate forced to look at their old online activity should take full accountability for the person they once were behind their computer screen. To the people I hurt with my words, I sincerely apologize.
All I can say is I’ve spent the past decade of my life trying to become someone worth trusting -- as a neighbor, as an advocate, and now as a public servant -- to fight for working families, for health care, for the dignity of every person in this district. I will keep showing up every day as the person I've worked to become. That is my promise to you.

The timing of @UVU’s invitation to Sharon McMahon makes it particularly indefensible.
It’d be one thing if @UVU were doing this a few years from now.
It’s quite another thing for @UVU to do it just a few months after Charlie Kirk’s horrific assassination on @UVU’s campus—within the same school year.

This year, I am the @UtahGOP candidate for @UTBoardofEd District 5, challenging incumbent Democrat @votereale
📺 I reached out to @abc4utah who often features the incumbent as a panelist on @LindsayOnAir Inside Utah Politics. I reminded them about the @FCC “Equal Time Rule” that requires radio and television stations to provide equal, non-discriminatory airtime to all legally qualified candidates for public office if they allow any one candidate to use their facilities.
👩🏫 @abc4utah replied that they had @votereale as a panelist prior to the current election season so they will continue to feature her as a panelist. They also informed me that she is on the show to provide "political analysis" and does not talk about her @UTBoardofEd position. And that having her in the studio is NOT a violation of the @FCC rule.

The left is slowly (and in some parts completly taken over) our institutions. Seeing whats going on at UVU shows that "Bluetah" could happen.
It takes people like the College Republicans to make sure we dont lose our institutions. Republicans MUST mobalize at all levels or we'll lose big. @MikeCarey4CC has been saying this, and if we're not prepared we will get a wake up call once its too late.
Now is not the time to be fence-sitting, its time to act. WE MUST SAVE UTAH
