Today marks 81 years since D-Day. The day when bravery triumphed over fear. The landing was one of the most important Allied operations of World War II. It paved the way for the restoration of freedom in Europe. We honor all those who risked everything to push back evil and fought to defeat oppression. Their courage laid the foundations of transatlantic unity that have endured for generations. We are deeply grateful to all who once stood against Nazism and to all who today refuse to let hatred prevail. Today, once again, bravery must triumph over fear, and liberty over tyranny.
