I want to thank Darrell Jones (@Darrell4BC) for putting his name forward in this competition to lead @Conservative_BC, and wish him and his family well going forward as he graciously steps back. Our democracy works only if people with meaningful and unique skills put their name forward for public office. He stepped up. Let me also take a moment to thank our amazing campaign team …and, to the volunteers on Darrell’s team who have reached out this morning, please know you are most welcome, and that you will LOVE our expanding crew! The second half of this competition lies before us, and together we face it with excitement, growing confidence & clear momentum. We are drawing energy & inspiration from the thousands of current and prospective party members who want to beat the NDP… and who are confirming, in every one of our interactions, that “Experience Matters!” to achieve just that. Simply, the risks faced by our province are too many, too complex and too daunting to place leadership into inexperienced hands. I’m really excited about the weeks ahead, continuing my tour of B.C. & meeting British Columbians where you are, and hearing about your priorities, concerns and hopes for our future once I am Premier of BC. What a privilege to be in this race…. Let’s go!!!! #bcpoli

My comments on the BC Leadership campaign so far… [A "RISKY" Post]... I find it odd the extent campaigns are spending time spinning polls since we are all still selling memberships (which will change the math), and we have two mos. and 2-3 debates before voting. 1/10

Our momentum is building. It was great to meet so many people from Cloverdale, Surrey, and White Rock last night - over 80 people in the room, and the energy was incredible. I stayed to answer every question, shake every hand, and make sure people felt heard. That’s the kind of leadership I’ll bring as Premier. Thank you to everyone who came out. Your voice matters. And experience matters - that’s how we defeat the NDP. Sign up to support me! conservativebc.ca/black/

ENDORSEMENT: EXPERIENCE MATTERS Former Senator and long-time Conservative leader Gerry St. Germain endorses Iain Black, calling him the only candidate with the experience and leadership required to guide British Columbia through its economic challenges. St. Germain, a respected figure in Canadian conservative politics, served as a Member of Parliament beginning in 1983, was appointed to Cabinet as Minister of Transport and later Minister of Forestry, and went on to serve in the Senate of Canada. He also played a key role in uniting Canada’s conservative movement, helping bring together the Canadian Alliance and Progressive Conservative Party. “Iain Black brings a well-rounded and unique set of experience that is needed for a demanding job such as Premier of a province,” said St. Germain. “This is not a job for a first-time newcomer or someone without real business and political experience. The role of Premier must be viewed as the CEO of the province - and that is exactly what Iain has done his entire career. He has led organizations, built success, and understands government and leads with Conservative values.” Sign up and lets defeat the NDP to get BC back on track! conservativebc.ca/black/ #bcpoli

ENDORSEMENT: EXPERIENCE MATTERS Former Surrey Mayor and Federal Conservative MP Dianne Watts endorses Iain Black as the BC Conservative leadership candidate best positioned to defeat David Eby’s NDP. She noted that the province's record of failure compelled her to speak out. "As many of you know, I retired from political life to pursue other endeavours," said Watts. "But there comes a time when you need to get involved again – and this is one of those times." Watts, who served as Mayor of Surrey for nearly a decade before representing South Surrey/White Rock in Ottawa as a Federal Conservative MP, said the choice of leader comes down to one question: who can win, and who can govern. "This race is not just about who wins the leadership. It is about who can win a general election, who understands the complexities of public policy, and who has a credible plan to change the course of this provincial government. For me, there is only one person with those credentials. That person is Iain Black." Sign up today to join our team today! conservativebc.ca/black/

This is going to be historic. Pictured here is the next Premier of BC. Tickets are sold out, but we are working on securing a new, larger venue. This will be streamed across independent news networks in Canada - but nothing beats seeing candidates debate ideas in person!
