@MartinScopes Car-haters are deranged. They'd rather have trash in front of their building and along the curb 24/7 instead of a few hours a week, mostly overnight. Live look at Barcelona. Outside of the wealthy areas, this is what 95% of these bins will look like when deployed at scale.

A sample vid of NYPD cars, vehicles & garbage trucks causing massive pinch points during the first Manhattan #SummerStreets. It was dangerous & uncomfortable in places. Some intersections the road were reduced by ~75%! Everyone was talking about it. @StreetsblogNYC @OpenPlans And ALL of this footage was shot before 930am before the event gets really crowded. Any info for the change @NYC_DOT @NYCMayor?

Having a ton of officers sitting in idling cars scrolling on their phones is why we can’t afford to do this more days or for longer hours.
