The aid industry raises money by showing the world images of African children with flies in their eyes and swollen bellies.
That money is supposed to help us.
But those images do something else too. They plant a belief.
One of my employees, Yahara, told me she grew up thinking Africans were inferior because every magazine showed people like her looking pathetic while the world "saved" them.
Aid didn't just fail to fix poverty. It taught an entire generation of Africans to feel small.

There are two types of African founders.
One says: "The ecosystem is not ready. Investors don't back African startups. The odds are against us."
The other says: "The ecosystem is being built. I am part of that story. My traction speaks before I do."
Same continent. Same challenges. Completely different outcomes.
The first batch of pitch decks from the African Founders Community have been reviewed. Most of those founders have already booked and completed their introductory calls with the team at BTF, which is currently deploying a £50 million fund into high-growth African tech startups.
Not because the world changed overnight. Because they showed up, they had traction, and they were in the right room.
If you are an African founder with early traction (or users) and you are looking to raise, comment "AFC" and we @DanThaKaya
@DistinctLee will send you our community link.

@FinPlanKaluAja1 Professor jiang is using game theory and people think the US would lose this war. I think they are wrong. People focus more on the media narrative than the reality of thing. I think the reality of things is superior to game theory in my opinion
English

The US has underwater drones hunting mines in the Strait of Hormuz, has uncrewed surfacre ships on the water and drones in the air. The US has developed the ability to project war without risking its soldiers
The US troops killed have been in theatre, but not in direct kinetic action in Kuwait and Iraq
American military power has been restrained because the American public does not like US soldiers returning from a distant war in body bags
Imagine what future presidents will do knowing that they can project Air, Sea, Land and below the surface military assets without the loss of life
As I have said earlier, there is no way the US ends this without the Strait being open for commerce

@eezharhh 5 million in profit monthly from crushing per bottle is wild. Imagine how many tons he would have to handle

So this guy is earning ₦800k monthly in Lagos. He lives comfortably and drives a small car.
His friend is a wastepreneur recycling plastic bottles into flakes for manufacturing and he’s making about ₦5M profit monthly.
The friend offers him a partnership, leave your AC office and come join me, I’ll triple your income.
But he refuses because he feels the business is dirty and doesn’t want his reputation or class to drop. I told him to join since the money is better, but he still said no.

🚨 BREAKING: I’m partnering with @deel to fund up to 10 founders with $1,000,000+ 🤑
Deel just launched The Pitch, a global startup tournament, for the best founder in the world, presented by J.P. MORGAN. The prizes:
• 10 startups will each receive a $1M SAFE
• 100 regional winners will each receive $50K SAFEs
• $15M+ total capital deployed
And we’re officially partnering with them to push this to the Market Fit audience 🔥
This isn’t a gimmick. It’s a real funding vehicle.
Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Submit a 5-minute application
2️⃣ Top startups get invited to regional in-person finals
3️⃣ Regional winners get funded
4️⃣ Global finalists compete for $1M
Just product, team, and ambition.
I know how cracked my founder audience is. If you’re building something serious, this is an asymmetric upside.
Don’t worry, we’ll be spotlighting strong applications from our side 😉
I’ll personally be backing and pushing the strongest applications.
Apply. Swing big. Let’s fund one of you!
