@beingbrilliant @tes For now I would go with school avoidance as EBSA is the acronym being used, although that is still imperfect as it still suggests there is a choice; for so many young people it is can't go not won't.

@gfreeman2012 @StacyBetts86 What about all of us who can't afford that letter? And they can't pull EPs out of nowhere. Agreement to assess for us was back in the summer. They haven't even started.

@misslaurabowden @coopbellevue @MissVernon20 I would really love a copy of this to look through if it's not too much trouble? Let me know if it's OK and I will send you my email address. It looks really interesting. Thanks.

@WhistleblowingT It's directed time, not free time. This argument crops up every year at my school. I really don't see the issue - it's not 'extra' work!

@creativeHigg Inclusion shouldn't be an add on, it should just be the norm.

Some thoughts about inclusion based on my recent bad experiences. Inclusion is not a charitable act. Institutions wear Inclusion like a banner. Spoiler...it's not about you.

@msrebeccabirch Dont make it last longer than 5 minutes. Only ask questions that have one word (or a few words) answers.

@grahamchatterl2 Interesting most saying its the kids - I'm more inclined to think its the staff relaxing their expectations. Not on purpose but I'm sure we are all guilty of it when we know no-one is watching. Like how I eat more chocolate when no-one else is home . . .

Had a session with a school yesterday, they have just had Ofsted 2 weeks ago and behaviour was the best it's been all year This week behaviour has been been wild What does this tell us? I have my own opinions but interested in others

@MrKeyseScience @Hookean1 So much about this itteration of the spec just doesn't make sense I feel, it's so bitty and has no real purpose.

@MaryWild @Hookean1 I know, it is why I don't like it. I am just being intentionally awkward about this as well :)

One example of how things differ between English and Welsh Physics exam boards. This is from WJEC:

@MrKeyseScience @Hookean1 Ohmic means V/I is a constant under normal operating conditions. So we switch the circuit off because to leave it on would simulate abnormal operating conditions.

@MaryWild @Hookean1 How are we defining "ohmic" here? Brought up on WJEC but teaching AQA, OCR and Edexcel...

@Hookean1 Yes we will agree to disagree because I don't think that is the same thing 😁

@MaryWild I guess we will have to agree to disagree here. That first point in the screenshot I shared stated that bulbs obey Ohm's Law for low voltages. To me that is exactly the same as saying it is ohmic for low voltages.
