🇺🇸🇳🇬 JUST IN: U.S. Congressman Riley Moore has joined House Values Action Team (VAT) Chairman Robert Aderholt and 19 other lawmakers in condemning the Palm Sunday attack on Christians in Jos, Plateau State. In a statement, Moore said the lawmakers are raising alarm over what they described as ongoing violence and persecution of Christians in Nigeria, particularly during the Holy Week period. He noted that the U.S. government has linked continued security assistance to Nigeria to measurable progress in addressing violence in the Middle Belt, referencing bipartisan legislation signed by Donald Trump. Moore stressed that the situation requires urgent action, stating that the killings and persecution must end immediately. The statement follows the March 29, 2026 Palm Sunday attack in Angwan Rukuba (Jos North), where gunmen opened fire on civilians. Local residents, church leaders, and advocacy groups report that 27–30+ people were killed in the attack.
