none of it is that good. Everything half decent is going to have a long ass line and the act if eating food in a stadium seat is miserable. Giant mess waiting to happen. Would much rather eat somewhere downtown beforehand and settle for a snack/cocktail during the game

Rob Manfred said there may be a mid-season World Baseball Classic in future.
Some benefits:
• Higher player participation showcases a true “best vs best”.
• Players in peak shape means better quality, less strict pitch counts, etc.
• Breaks-up the regular season grind.

Back then kids would play travel ball too but it seemed like it wasn’t as crazy as it is now
CMR little league used to be the shit and every kid played. Now it’s like combined with RB Little League + Poway Little League

@DevineGospel It’s sad to see how it’s devolved the last 20 years. My little league org was hella competitive, as were a lot of the others all around us. Now it’s looked down upon as something lesser by travel ball elitists who think their kids are better off (they’re not)

@DevineGospel This exactly. “Travel ball” was in its infancy there when I played(early 90’s). It was called Fall Ball or Winter Ball back then. It was no where near what it is today. My parents have often told me that they couldn’t have supported me doing modern travel ball back then.

@DevineGospel 100%. Little league is a shell of what it used to be. And it actually hurts the sport long term. Pretty sure the kids in Venezuela arent using $500 bats playing in stupid expensive weekend tournaments.

NEW: Special education teacher accused of r*ping a 10-year-old student up to 5 times a day, told him she would give him brownies.
Police say the assaults took place in a smaller room as well as a private area in the main classroom.
When police searched the phone of the teacher, Mahayla Benavides, 32, they allegedly found videos she took of herself r*ping the student.
The Spokane, Washington, fourth grader says the assaults happened five times a day on some occasions.
Benavides instructed him not to tell anyone about the assaults or else she would lose her job.
At one point, the boy asked if she would ever get him any gifts, and she replied by saying she would get him brownies.
Her bond was set at $500,000. She was charged with child r*pe and child m*lestation.
Horrific.

The great part about the WBC is that it’s on at a time when there isn’t good baseball being played. It is perfect as is. I don’t get the obsession with moving it to the All-Star Break.
