Noticing a SHARP increase of game devs using all generative AI assets, and either passing it off as their own work, or admitting to it in the fine print of a thread somewhere. The games industry is already trying to replace all their artists with AI, and now the indie scene?

@deonarknage @FENTLLC It's not a collage or tracing anything, it's not like the models has hundreds of billions of images laying around to mix and match, the training data is distilled into something abstract and the ai generates an image from scratch.

@MattiasMagito @FENTLLC It's a non-consensual collage, that technically amounts to tracing in many ways as well. That's plagiarism. If the original art didn't exist, the generative content wouldn't either. That's not the same as sampling, or taking inspiration. Let's not be disingenuous now.

@deonarknage @FENTLLC Your main arguing point seems to be plagiarism and it's not even the case. Yes the models are trained on artists work, mostly without consent but the output is original and therefore not plagiarism.
