Here’s Airbus A350 Electronic Flight Bag... Lenovo laptop tucked into one of those heavy-duty, super-expensive protective cases that airlines use. It Runs essential apps... perf calcs, NavDB, FCOM browser etc etc . Apps got stuck today so I yanked it out for a hard reset and it came back to life (like it does 99% of the time). It’s funny how much money goes into the case while the actual hardware still needs the classic “turn it off and on again” fix and of course much cheaper than the actual case.

Buddy, easy to preach when you’re not the one stranded for 8 days with daily cancellations, hotel bills and food expenses. Refund doesn’t recover wasted time or losses. Maybe next time understand the situation before telling someone to “stop crying.” Sitting comfortably and giving lectures is the easiest job in the world.

Stranded in the UAE after 28 Feb due to continuous flight cancellations, I finally had to leave on 8 March by paying 3X the price for an Emirates ticket, as there was no hope left from SpiceJet except repeated cancellations. During these 9 days, I spent 350 AED per day on accommodation and 300 AED per day on food — a total of 5,850 AED just to survive while waiting. When passengers are forced to stay due to constant cancellations, who will take responsibility for these expenses and losses faced by stranded travelers?

@trend_nosig @OnDisasters Runway entry scan + before take off checklist both have a clear 3 point check to confirm FLAPS. Flap Position Indicator FMC-CDU TAKE OFF PAGE FLAP LEVER POSITION. Along with Green Light. Im surprised how many things are out of order in this video.

Boeing 737s have a lock override push pin/trigger, it is used to mechanically move the lock solenoid, if it fails in engaged position. Q400 is much simpler, no lock solenoid dramas, its mechanical lock release always; any time you move the lever do it consciously/intentionally!

The A320 has a similar interlock mechanism that prevents unsafe retraction by locking the lever in DOWN if any shock absorber isn't fully extended. It adds one more clever safety: it also checks that the nose wheels are centered. Even better - the nose gear shock absorber extended and nose wheels centered signals come from the same proximity detectors.

An old tweet of Jan 2018 has surfaced as a few friends have discovered & liked it. Situation continues to be the same. British Airways, Emirates Airlines & other international carriers make announcements in Kannada on ✈️ from & to Bengaluru. In fact they even print menu cards in Kannada. It is only because the MoCA has not prioritised service in languages of the states that Airlines do not show the sensitivity. @RamMNK If MoCA were to direct the airlines to serve in languages of the states then it will also result in hiring crew from the states where they serve.

My gut feeling says staying at home these next few months is a smart decision. Or go via car or train. Was scheduled to land in Delhi day before for important work. Air India canceled the first leg of my round trip. The message basically said “the onus is on you to get your refund.” My last Delhi to Mumbai flight (pre-indigo fiasco) was about to land when the pilot pointed the nose up at almost 60 degrees and took us straight to the skies. No announcement. No warning. Passengers got shit scared. Casually circled around airport before landing with a horrible thud. My uninformed suspicion is the industry is facing major scrutiny and pressure. All of this is impacting the mental health of pilots, ground staff, and everyone working at airports. Things need to change drastically in the Indian aviation industry before flyers can get to travelling like it’s business as usual.
