The real sign British education has failed is the number of people responding to this chart with "that’s what happens when too many people go to university"
HE has expanded in all of these countries, and in every one apart from UK that didn’t erode the graduate earnings premium.
Stefan Schubert@StefanFSchubert
Whereas the graduate premium has increased in most rich countries, it has plummeted in Britain since 1997. Earnings for British graduates have shrunk (next pic). ->

@BradoCapital @minithoughtsz An EU directed free payment system would significantly disrupt the European market within a few years of its implementation. Singapore uses a similar system which the entire local market uses. Shops still accept visa/mastercard for tourists & convince but card down as much as 65%
English

@MayfairLDN_ @minithoughtsz seen a lot of plans to disintermediate them with little success thru the years

apparently lending people money to buy dumb shit they can’t afford isn’t good for revenue

Klarna's valuation: 2021: $45 billion 2026: $5 billion

@BradoCapital @minithoughtsz Thoughts on EU plans for their own payment system?

@soundhunter @GoogleLabs Unfortunately this is technology… you will have to use it to adapt. If people can get an almost identical product at 5% of the cost then the product is better for them. It would be like people who sold horse and carts saying we shouldn’t have cars because they’d make less…
English

@AndyJScott @GoogleLabs Yes, exactly. I expect to lose about 10k in revenue this year from headshots and product photography due to AI…and for that number to grow exponentially. Hurting for my friends who work in film too. Sound engineers and session musicians. Ugh.

@crossdio @singulieroblige @PeterBerezinBCA They’re spending what they make and have historically the strongest balance sheets in corporate history
English

@singulieroblige @PeterBerezinBCA Yes, no need to be able to sustain a crisis for example, let’s burn everything in few months 😂

@PeterBerezinBCA What really was the point of all that cash flow anyway? It feels like it makes a lot of sense to use it to invest heavily in an exciting new tech rather than buy back shares, pay dividends, and make the c-suite into billionaires.

@nickhillman @robprogressive A loan wouldn’t be needed for £1,200 for most people… of course for a large minority it wouldn’t have been easy to make but £1,200 with no debt is much better than the current system
English

@robprogressive This is a ridiculous comparison. In 2004, the fees were upfront; there were no tuition fee loans. And your number for graduate salaries is nonsense:

It is probably the first time in the history of humanity that Walmart trades at 45 times forward P/E while Amazon trades at 21 times.
What is happening!
tae kim@firstadopter
Walmart is trading at double the forward P/E of Amazon
