Ken Griffin went home on a Friday "fairly depressed" after watching AI agents at Citadel do work that used to take teams of PhDs in finance months to complete. Done in days. His words: "These are not mid-tier white collar jobs. These are extraordinarily high skilled jobs being automated by agentic AI." This is the head of one of the most successful hedge funds in history saying the people he pays seven figures to analyze markets and structure deals are being replaced by software that works in hours instead of months. Not theoretically. In his own office. Right now. The Coatue deck we covered earlier this week called agents "the biggest unlock" in AI. Griffin just confirmed it from the buy side. The shift from copilots to agents is not a future event. It is already happening at the highest levels of finance.

While everyone chases Nvidia and the same handful of names, 4 stocks are quietly sitting on real setups nobody has figured out yet. If the catalysts hit, the upside is real. Here they are:

Utopia is not the standard. Reality is. Every civilisation has sins if you judge it by today’s moral standards. You can build an entire career doing nothing but listing them. That is easy. The harder question and the only one that matters is this: compared to actual, existing alternatives, who has done better? I am not claiming the West is perfect. It is not. No society is. But if you are honest about measurable progress on rights, equality, and self-correction, it is still ahead of every other major system in the world today. So stop asking "is it perfect?" That is a childish question. Ask: "compared to what?"

A 25 year old just turned $225 million into $5.5 billion in 12 months. Here’s exactly what he bought. Leopold Aschenbrenner got fired from OpenAI in April 2024. He spent the next few months writing a 165-page thesis predicting AGI by 2027. Then he launched a fund and put his money where his thesis was. He bought zero Nvidia. Zero Microsoft. Zero Google. Zero Amazon. He bought what AI actually runs on. Bloom Energy (BE), power infrastructure for data centers. Up 1,422% in one year. Lumentum (LITE), optical components that move data between chips. Up 1,331%. Sandisk (SNDK), storage. Up 3,130%. CoreWeave (CRWV), GPU cloud infrastructure. Up 166%. Iris Energy (IREN), AI computing and data centers. Up 583%. The thesis was simple: every AI company needs energy, bandwidth, storage, and compute. Nobody was buying those. Everyone was buying the AI companies themselves. He was right. His fund now manages $6 billion. Backed by Patrick and John Collison of Stripe and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman. I’m adding this to my watchlist. Every time he files a new 13F, we will break it down here. Turn on notifications so you don’t miss the alert, this is VERY important. Many people will wish they followed us sooner.

He predicted: • AI vision breakthrough (1989) • Neural network comeback (2006) • Self-supervised learning revolution (2016) Now Yann LeCun's 5 new predictions just convinced Zuckerberg to redirect Meta's entire $20B AI budget. Here's what you should know (& how to prepare):

Potentially the biggest day in AI so far this year 3 major releases you need to be trying immediately: 🔶 Claude Opus 4.7 • More agentic model. Front load tasks and information, then let it rip for hours • Use auto mode to cut cycle time. Doesn't ask for permission constantly • Set up notifications so you can let it run for hours then come back when necessary 🔶 Codex super app update • OpenAI's answer to Claude Cowork (they couldn't drop this when I was doing my taxes yesterday?) • Codex now has computer use. It literally has its own mouse to click on things on your computer. Neat way to handle this • Fully integrated with more apps and services. For example, if you're building a game, you can have it generate assets using the chatgpt image model right in codex and place them in the code 🔶 Perplexity Personal Computer • Perplexity's answer to OpenClaw • Purpose built to control its own Mac Mini (altho can run on any Mac device) • Built with security in mind. Full audit trail for every action. Sensitive actions require approval. Kill switch can be used whenever • Full control over your computer, apps, imessage, and anything on it 3 huge updates. If you want an edge over your competition you need to be using these tools the moment they drop Time to take action

Google quietly open sourced a time-series AI that predicts anything. Sales trends. Market prices. User traffic. Energy demand. Crypto volatility. It's called TimesFM. Pre-trained on 100B real-world data points. Zero-shot forecasting with no fine-tuning. Outperforms supervised models trained on your specific data. Runs locally. Free. Apache license. Most people are focused on language models. The quietly powerful ones are learning to predict the future.

Italy 🇮🇹 has 13 Tech companies valued at $1B+, worth $55B+ combined 🤯 And 3 of them are FinTech: • Nexi Group — $4.6B — Italy’s dominant payments infrastructure player • @satispay — $1.3B — 3M+ users and 200K+ merchants • @ScalapayEU — $1.0B — one of Europe’s key BNPL players Not a market that gets a lot of noise, but clearly one with real depth in payments. 📷 Source: Multiples.vc What is going to be the next FinTech that’s going to be in this list?

While I am not particularly a fan of his. It is a sad day when politicians use the very tragic death of two heroic pilots for political purposes. Having an elected body ask for the resignation of a private citizen rather than dealing with the crumbling infrastructure etc. To score political points exemplifies why Qc is in decline
