Wife wanted Lebanese for dinner. I was like let me place a DoorDash order but go in and pick it up so I don’t have to tip someone a billion dollars.
I get to the store, park the car, I get a text that the order is ready for pick up. I go inside and grab my paper bag which has my name and order printed on it. Take it back to the car. Decide to check the order because otherwise what’s the point of ME coming to get it.
Half the order is wrong and says “Jenny” on it. Go back inside. Hi this is not my order. They’re like oh crap Jenny took your order, fucking Jenny she always does this shit, just keep the food and we’ll make you a whole another order.
So here I am back home with an insane amount of food. Score!

@DKThomp my team was pretty leading edge on this at my company, we started reeling in the AI usage over the past couple months (unmaintainable garbage) but the leadership mandates just dropped so now all the teams are burning tokens aimlessly.

Again, if you thought that the odds that AI was a bubble in 2025 were >50% (hi) I don’t know you can look at this and not shift your odds.
The best time to flip-flop is when reality changes. A leading AI company’s run rate quadrupling in six months is some kind of change!

not a super clean report, but looks like Anthropic has reached ~$45B run rate one month after reaching $30B. this is a continuation of the tripling per quarter/~100x annualized growth rate they've seen this year.

So many things about AI infra and AI adoption today reminds me of Cloud adoption in the 2010s.
Cloud is assumed to decrease business costs but later can start to actually increase it; has a years-long adoption + integration curve; the biggest winners are closer to the infra than not; it becomes a v large expense at companies to plan + budget for; customers don’t care if a company uses cloud/AI behind the scenes etc
