@DeltaDood24 @2MINIHULK For some teams, BPA doesnt always mean who is currently the most talented player. Sometimes it means best potential player with the highest ceiling and highest floor for teams. That could very well be Reid for some teams just based on his trajectory in the last 2 years.

First sentence of the second paragraph is what I've told people consistently since the lottery. Grier is BPA. The consensus BPA is gonna be either McKenna or Stenberg. If they stay at 2 which is highly likely cause trades in the top 5 rarely happen they will come away with one of those two players. And no, the line between Stenberg and Reid is not remotely close like many media talking heads continue to say. The defensive prospects in this draft are all projects that have glaring holes in their games. Stenberg is the most well rounded NHL ready prospect in this draft and helps day one. That is the definition of BPA.

Verhoeff is a 6’4”, 214 lbs or so defenseman and shoots right. If he’s a smart enough defenseman to know about the other prospects that’s a huge plus in his favor because one of the toughest things to teach is hockey IQ.

To me, the choice is clear for the Sharks to draft Ivar Stenberg. I love Chase Reid, but there's a clear tier between the two players for me. Choose best player available. Always. Package Eklund + 20th OVR for a D upgrade.
