@BrianFisherLORW JBD over ASP? This lineup is horrendous and another situation of letting production walk out the door with no plan for replacement.

Larkin is traded for futures. Is this what the starting lineup looks like to you? Looks like 8th place in this difficult division. But some fun things to watch would be Kasper & other young players development, and how DeBrincat and Raymond perform together.

Someone explain to me why the ROI of private K-12 school is so high that it justifies taking up 35-40% of your post-tax income. Especially if your public schools are fine (which, if you are paying a 5K mortgage, they probably are.)

So you think earning $408,000 a year is a lot of money? After working 50+ hours a week, being stressed out of your mind, and barely seeing your kids, it might not be the dream income you imagined. Look how quickly the money goes. $1/month left over. What would you cut?

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is not the last investigative piece you’ll see about this guy’s background, I assure you,” says @MarkHalperin about a negative Washington Post story about progressive Maine Democrat Troy Jackson which “had been pitched around to other news organizations. I’m not saying the post shouldn’t have run it, but they say he has a horrible temper. Threw a water bottle in a meeting. A lot of legislators felt he was intimidating and used anger as kind of a tool, including against a lot of his female colleagues.” @TroyJackson207 @LarryOConnor @KevinPWalling @2waytvapp

@JimCosta_ You’re such a fucking loser. This team is within striking distance of their third straight postseason appearance and you want to trade the best home-grown talent they’ve produced in years instead of holding the billionaire owner accountable for refusing to pay him his worth

After last night you hope the Tigers see the writing on the wall Bottom 10 offense shutout for 8 innings. They've spent 78 days under .500 and counting (Currently 7 under) It's a sellers market and they've got the top trade chip Should be more than willing and able #DNMW

@JimCosta_ You trade Skubal and you're declaring another rebuild. You keep Skubal you have to commit to building a team around him. You have a HOF ace, you should bring in pieces to make a run at a ring.

@tmatthewshockey Copp and Arvidsson should be “high-end” bottom 6 guys supporting the top 6 in a playoff team. Finnie not ready and would be worst top line center in NHL. Ras is no good. Outside of Cat and Raymond I just don’t know where any production comes from…

Worst-case Larkin-less bridge: 1) DeBrincat-Finnie-Raymond 2) Arvidsson-Copp-Brandsegg-Nygard 3) Mazur-Kasper-Kolesar 4) Rasmussen-Compher-Appleton Not a Cup lineup, but not a grave like the superficial fans want to think. #LGRW #RedWings Red Wings fans are panicking over the one Larkin trade problem Detroit can survive open.substack.com/pub/motorcityi…

In all this endless discourse, has anybody yet come up with a theory of how Nolan's diversity casting choices _improved_ the movie? All I'm hearing so far are things like: - But film was good anyway. - Only on screen 5 minutes. - Why are you asking? Are you racist? - I hate you.

@ianmSC @EWErickson @rkylesmith It’s art, not politics. We would never have anything in the arts if people weren’t given artistic license. This labeling it as “politics” in everything is tiring.

There’s obviously a lot of truth to this, but I think the difference is that one side is demanding politics be injected into every area of life, and the other is begging for it to be left out. The Odyssey is an example, because people are upset Nolan put his own modern ideology into a historic story. The left is upset if that ideology isn’t injected into every story. Which in many cases, ruins it. And that “drains the joy” out of seeing movies, when you know you’re going to roll your eyes at the director’s biases.

The succubus right is exhausting, sucking all the joy out of life. Don't go see Nolan, "it's woke." Don't watch sports. "It's woke." Don't do this. Don't shop there. It's like the Left — draining the joy from life in the name of some weird purity.

@Megrezzi @UMFanJosh If the Tigers get in the playoffs they will be competing for a WS. Thats how it works. The teams in the playoffs are eligible to win the WS. The main piece back would be like Zyhir Hope or Luis Lara. Those guys are good but will not transform them within a year.

There’s never been a bigger signal to me that 90% of Twitter is fake than the made up culture war against the Odyssey. If you’re normal and go see the movie you have ZERO idea there’s some uproar about the casting. Everyone on this app is fake and/or insane now.

@UMFanJosh @confusion_reign Meaning MLB-ready talent to be up now or next year. The line of thinking we’re competing for a WS this year is unrealistic as constructed. Tigers need position players.

@confusion_reign @UMFanJosh tbf, the Tigers as constructed aren’t competing either… they’re a worse roster than last year. The writing on the wall is he is gone being a Boras client and he’s doing PR to not be a villain on the way out. Getting 1-2 MLB position players improves the roster. We have pitching

ok i promise last Yzerplan post Holland obviously left Yzerman with a burning wreckage, but everyone knew that. it was priced in. Yzerman was finishing 3rd in leaguewide fan front office polls before any of his picks had even played. I don't think any GM has ever had more buy-in, fan support, and faith than Yzerman got in the past 7 years in part because of how bad Holland was at the end and how little he was left with
Retired and Cute@donotconsidery1

Ken Holland is more responsible for killing the Yzerplan than Steve Yzerman is. ...But casual Detroit sports fans aren't ready for that take yet
