I find the victim-blaming of Jewish communities in Britain deeply distasteful and worrying. Too often the narrative is 'oh, well you brought this [insert anti-semitic attack here] upon yourself because your very existence as Jews is offensive to [insert anti-semitic protest group].' Not dissimilar to the argument among Islamists that if a woman gets raped it's never the fault of a man and it is she, not he, who must be punished. Both grotesque.

I think a lot of the nastiness surrounding the Hatzola ambulances is rooted in envy. People in the UK are envious that a community got together and did something good because they know that their own communities wouldn't do the same. Rather than emulating us, they choose to hate.
