Is There a Path Forward for Lebanon? - The Iranians are demanding an end to Israel’s war against Hezbollah as part of the current negotiations. Seven weeks ago, when the current US-Iranian ceasefire went into effect, the President pressured Israel to limit its major offensive operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Mr. Netanyahu had little choice but to agree. - The U.S. hopes to facilitate an agreement between Israel and Lebanon, but we sometimes forget that the war is between Israel and Hezbollah, not the Lebanese government or its Sunni, Druze, and Christian communities. Symbolic meetings between the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors to the United States are positive gestures, but short of a direct meeting between President Aoun and Prime Minister Netanyahu, they fall far short of what is required. - Read my article to understand whether there is a viable path forward between Israel and Lebanon, and what would be required to achieve it. It begins with a Lebanese government that is both capable of and willing to act decisively against Hezbollah. Vetting the Lebanese Armed Forces of Hezbollah is essential. mepinanalysis.org/2026/05/is-the…

🇮🇱 Israel will remain the most important actor when it comes to Iran, not only as a regional stakeholder, but as the only regional power that can actually deter Iran. 🇺🇸 Gulf Arab leaders are conflicted between what they ideally want (i.e., the US finishes the job and Iran's regime is completely destroyed) and what they can realistically achieve (a weakened Iran that does not represent a threat) as the US Administration is moving forward with a deal. 📺 Watch my full analysis on President Trump's call with Arab and Israel leaders in preparation for a US-Iran deal, with @natasharaquel_ on @i24NEWS_EN today:

I am currently talking to two sources I really respect. They are both telling me that Trump is backing away from the deal with Iran, likely under extreme internal pressure (i.e. Israel and its domestic allies in the US). This is a terrifying turn of events.

Tomorrow is the beginning of my last full week living in Scotland. Next Sunday (7 June), I will be making Aliyah, moving to Israel, and becoming an Israeli citizen. For years, I have written and spoken about Jewish peoplehood, indigeneity, exile, and home. Now I get to live it for myself. Not as theory. Not as history. But as my reality. After 2,000 years of exile, it is extraordinary that Jew can come home.

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 Axios just revealed the detailed terms of the Iran deal Trump is close to signing, possibly as soon as today... Key details: -A 60-day ceasefire extension, renewable by mutual consent -The Strait of Hormuz reopens with no tolls, and Iran clears the mines it deployed -In exchange, the U.S. lifts its blockade and issues sanctions waivers letting Iran sell oil freely -Trump's principle: "relief for performance." Frozen Iranian funds stay frozen until a final nuclear deal is verifiably implemented -Iran commits in the MOU to never pursue nuclear weapons and to negotiate suspending enrichment and removing its uranium stockpile -Iran reportedly gave verbal commitments through mediators on how far it will go -U.S. forces stay in the region for the full 60 days, withdrawing only if a final deal is reached -The MOU explicitly ends the Israel-Hezbollah war in Lebanon -Arab and Muslim leaders including the UAE's MBZ, Saudi, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan all backed the deal on a Saturday call The most revealing detail: Netanyahu raised concerns about the Lebanon ceasefire on a Saturday call with Trump and was overridden. The U.S. official's quote says everything. "Bibi has his domestic considerations, but Trump has the interests of the U.S. and the global economy to think about."

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 The most detailed account of the deal yet shows a far more conditional framework than the early leaks suggested... Per a U.S. official to Axios, the structure is a 60 day MOU built on one principle Trump set: "relief for performance." Iran gets nothing upfront. During the 60 days, Iran opens Hormuz with no tolls and clears its mines. In exchange, the U.S. lifts the blockade and grants some oil waivers. Two details cut against the Iranian victory narrative. U.S. forces stay in the region the entire 60 days and only leave if a final deal is reached. The frozen billions only unlock with a verified final nuclear agreement. Iran committed to never pursue weapons and to negotiate giving up its enriched uranium. Tehran still has not confirmed publicly.

This is the key question here. When it comes to Israel, Kristof, like many of his colleagues, fails to perform basic tasks required of a journalist — such as verifying information. What exactly is his added value as a reporter? Anyone can pass on a rumor or take dictation from agenda-driven actors.
Peter Savodnik@petersavodnik

If it's unconfirmed, why share it with your 1.8M followers, especially considering the source, which is committed to the destruction of the Jewish state? Have you bothered to ask any Israelis about this? Have you done any reporting? Do you know what reporting is?

huffpost.com/entry/released… “At least 15 cases of sexual assaults, including rape. Shot with rubber bullets at close range. Tens of people’s bones broken,” organizers of the Global SumudFlotilla posted on the Telegram social media app. “While the world’s eye is trained on the suffering of our participants, we cannot emphasize enough that this is a mere glimpse of the brutality Israel imposes daily on Palestinian hostages.”

Israel may be losing one of its last major allies in Europe. As more details emerge from the testimonies of Sumud Flotilla activists, the divide between Rome and Jerusalem appears headed toward a complete rupture.

@HonestReporting @JackiAlexander_ @nytimes concludes by reframing the narrative, once again (see a pattern?), w moral equivalence and a no-win situation. They must make hard choices; like reporting on meticulously documented atrocities of 10/7 would look Islamophobia to their readers. FFS.

10/ What makes this even worse is how the NYT weaponizes October 7. Hamas live‑streamed and documented its own atrocities; journalists verified horrors the killers themselves proudly showed. Kristof, by contrast, is asking readers to believe an unprecedented dog‑rape story no expert will stand behind, built on Hamas‑linked and anonymous sources. To drag that into the same moral frame as Oct 7 and then link criticism of his reporting to “Islamophobia” isn’t nuance. It’s an attempt to smear critics and hide bad journalism behind real Israeli victims.
