The SACCO Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2025 is unconstitutional in many respects. What is worrying — the total silence from Sacco memberships. ⭕️ The @kuscco scandal was real. Reform is needed. But this Bill risks being used as a Trojan horse to: ✅Extract revenue from SACCO members via taxation dressed up as regulation ✅Create new patronage structures (boards, funds, authorities) funded by member savings ✅Centralize control under @SASRA_ke and the Cabinet Secretary in ways that undermine cooperative autonomy guaranteed under Article 40 and the Co-operative Societies Act ✅Bypass genuine consultation with the 15+ million members whose livelihoods and savings are at stake ✅As COFEK, we have already identified the constitutional and consumer rights grounds for challenging or demanding amendment of this Bill—Articles 10, 27, 40, 43, 118, 201(b), and the cooperative principle of member sovereignty. ⭕️ The savings of Kenyan women were not built to fund a new bureaucracy.​​​​​​ @DrOparanya @KIMANIICHUNGWAH @KeTreasury @stimasacco @MwalimuSacco @mhasibuofficial @Unaitas

RSF Kenya Passports Fiesta This is not politics. This is a national wound. An individual identified as Algoney Hamdan Dagalo reported to be the brother of RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo allegedly holding Kenyan passport number AK1586127. AYAM TAYAD. WAKALENJIN SI WATU A Kenyan passport. Not a visitor’s visa. Not a temporary permit. Full nationality. While ordinary Kenyans sleep outside immigration offices. While graduates miss international deadlines. While mothers sell land to pay passport fees. Someone connected by blood to one of Africa’s most notorious militia commanders is allegedly walking the world under the protection of Kenya’s coat of arms. That is not a mistake. That is not bureaucracy. That is a decision. When activist Boniface Mwangi releases a list of foreigners issued Kenyan passports and the name Dagalo appears, the gravity is explosive. Because passports are not printed in darkness by accident. They are approved. Cleared. Escorted through the system. Every passport carries the Lion and the Shield. It carries the history of struggle. It carries the identity of 50+ million citizens. If even a fraction of this is accurate, then that sacred identity has been reduced to a transactional favor. Kenya is not a rehabilitation center for militia dynasties. Kenya is not an insurance policy for foreign war networks. Kenya is not a diplomatic playground where bloodlines to armed groups are rewarded with nationality. If individuals tied to the RSF inner circle are holding Kenyan passports, then our sovereignty has been compromised at the highest level. Because such clearance does not happen at the bottom of the food chain. It happens where power breathes. This is bigger than outrage. It is about credibility. It is about security. It is about whether citizenship still means something. A passport is the legal armor of a nation. If that armor is handed to figures orbiting conflict and militia command, then we are not just embarrassing ourselves we are exposing ourselves. Kenyans deserve full disclosure: Who approved it? Under what legal provision? On what basis was nationality granted? Was due diligence conducted? Silence will only confirm what people already fear that power protects power, even when that power is stained by foreign conflict. This is not a small scandal. It is a test of whether Kenya belongs to its citizens or to backroom alliances. And history will remember who chose the flag and who chose the handshake.

Today, KENCO hosted a high-level delegation from Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health, courtesy of @NCIKenya. The discussion, led by KENCO Chairperson @Odiyos, focused on the roles of civil society, patient advocacy, early detection, and survivorship in strengthening cancer care.
