GM from the past, I'm writing this on February 23rd and I'm scheduling this tweet about Build Games for April 2nd! I was just laughed at in the Telegram chat for asking how gamefi ponzis fit in to Build Games, so that has given me enough info to make a prediction on what the winners will look like! I assume they have been announced or will be announced soon. I got accepted to the program as well, so hopefully I don't end up getting money as there is almost no way I remember to stop this tweet from sending! Grand Prize ($100k): This goes to a project tokenizing something that nobody cares about on a new L1. Everyone will praise it as being a sustainable business. Nobody will use it or care. Possibly we can't even use it. Maybe something businessy like "putting office space leases on chain." Runner Up ($75k): This will go to some tech slop. Maybe a service for L1s. Possibly a plug and play DEX or explorer that new L1s can spin up themselves easily and for cheap. Probably nobody will use it as L1 demand is still lacking, but they will likely partner with the Grotto in some way so we will begrudgingly accept them. Third ($50k): This will go to something capitalizing on a hype trend. Likely AI or prediction related. It will either be a worse version of an existing project, or a take on it that nobody asked for or wants. Probably employees will tweet about it for a month or two afterwards in the hopes of getting people to use it but it won't catch on. Category Prizes (?): These will mostly go to people we don't know. There will likely be a few projects that gain traction here but the majority will either be abandoned or never take off. There will be 5-10 community members that get $5k grants here as an attempt to stop people from having an overwhelmingly negative reaction. Wrath may get something like $20k, and Andy $10k as they try to prop them up as the token "community supported" projects. Public facing employees will point to the 5-10% of the prizepool going to community members as a huge success and wonder why people are unhappy. Community will be unhappy because they will point to the other 95% of the prizepool, particularly the winners, and point out that it's the same shit that always happens with these programs. How did I do????

There’s been a lot of noise around the Build Games results, so I want to give a perspective from someone who actually listened to most of the pitches. From a pure judging standpoint, @MeridianProto stood out immediately. The moment I heard the pitch, I knew it was going to win. It wasn’t close. I called it in multiple private and group chats. That doesn’t mean I didn’t have questions. I did. I even pushed on things like unverified contracts, contract complexity, and lack of testing. Those are valid concerns. But zooming out, you have to evaluate what was actually presented. Most submissions fell into a few buckets: 1⃣ Copycats 2⃣ Small games 3⃣ Short-term/degen ideas 4⃣ Apps that realistically won’t scale or bring meaningful TVL That’s fine, it’s a 3–4 week build window. But if you’re judging based on: ✅ Real-world utility ✅ Ability to scale ✅ Potential to attract users and capital ✅ Quality of vision and execution There was only one project that clearly checked those boxes. That’s why Meridian won. Also worth remembering: these teams had a few weeks. Of course there will be bugs. Of course things won’t be perfect. That’s the entire point of a competition like this, it’s a starting line, not a finished product. The prize money itself doesn’t even cover audits. It’s not some massive payday, it’s a stepping stone to get real funding and actually build something meaningful. If you have concerns, that’s completely fair. Ask questions. Challenge things. That’s how the ecosystem improves. But piling on and attacking builders who just spent weeks grinding to create something ambitious isn’t it. We want people building serious applications on $AVAX. When someone actually does that, the response shouldn’t be to tear them down. We're all human, let's treat each other with dignity and respect.

Real-world utility is the key for @avax atm. In your Opinion how it will leverage Avalanche’s ICM, Teleporter, subnets, and upcoming upgrades? I mean such as Etna or L1 improvements to expand its cross-chain margin layer and become a core primitive for institutional credit across the entire Avalanche ecosystem?
