@EwanMacKenna Understand - You're saying by being on the pitch in any way you are interfering. But the translation of the rule is A player standing beyond the defenders while the ball is elsewhere = offside position. If the ball is passed to them whilst in the position = offside offence.

I defended Celtic penalty during the week but is that not offside? Open to correction as ran in door for last few minutes and just caught it. But how is Maeda not interfering with play given he's the attention of the keeper and half the defence? #hearts

I'm hearing reports in the wider media now over the conclusion of the game at Celtic Park, being looked at from a legal perspective by the SFA. There is a “strong possibility” the game is voided by home team malpractice which would see a default 3-0 to Hearts. More to follow...

@MiamcMaria @DerRohlSouness It doesn't matter if you're 7 up or 8 up! Rules are rules. The ref has lost. This one as there waw clearly a minute left when invasion happened. The ref needs to blow the whistle for full time before this happened but he didn't. Plus score panel was still running n clearly

@mooreholmes24 Totally agree anyone being physically violent needs punished. Unfortunately the only video I've seen was a hearts player attacking a fan.

The eyes of the world were on Scottish football this weekend. The title race captivated a global audience as it all came down to a final showdown. Yet even with the world watching on, Celtic couldn’t help but show themselves for what they are. Their fans violently attacked players and staff of their opponents - and not for the first time. This only happens because of the culture of unaccountability both within the SPL, who allow Celtic to act with impunity, and the Celtic Football Club themselves, who would rather celebrate thuggery by their fans instead of tackle it. Celtic as a club, as a fan base, and as an institution, are a perpetual embarrassment to Scotland and to football. Constantly bringing the beautiful game into disrepute.

Ireland failed to qualify for the Eurovision grand final in EIGHT of the last ten contests. On one of the two occasions it qualified, it came sixteenth. This isn’t a boycott. It’s an attempt to continue a humiliating losing streak.

@Glinner The beauty of people throwing the term 'anti-semitisim' about has encouraged people to research the term and fully understand it. Therefore people know youre just using inflammatory language to try and shut them up.

@Sjopinion10 Here’s an honest question for you Simon. We always get the rules drummed into our heads with VAR decisions. If rules really matter, game should be abandoned and replayed as it could not be completed because of pitch invasion. Your thoughts. I am neutral by the way.

@MichaelPTKelly I disagree. We have the most amazing parish priest and he isn't afraid of telling the goof stories and the not so flattering stories of people - but they make everyone smile through the tears. But I know he is one of a kind and not all are capable of that level of empathy.

A eulogy is *not* part of the Catholic funeral rites. Sometimes priests make exceptions, they should not INHO. They are rarely - very rarely - done well, and people ought to keep stories that mean a lot to them for the wake. Funerals are to pray for the dead.

Greg Burgess writes.... So apparently Jill and I are on a plane to China with Trump, Elon Musk, half the Cabinet, and a collection of CEOs whose combined net worth could probably refinance the moon. Totally normal day for Gen X. And I just can’t stop laughing at how the media spent YEARS telling us: - China hated Elon - Trump was “finished” - America was collapsing - capitalism was dead - and everybody important was abandoning the U.S. Meanwhile, here we are somewhere over the Pacific looking like the cast of Succession meets Top Gun: Retirement Plan Edition. Remember when China sanctioned Marco Rubio back in 2020 and everybody acted like the geopolitical chessboard had permanently shifted? Now suddenly everybody’s still showing up to the table because — shocking development — nations tend to like: - money - technology - manufacturing - trade - AI - energy - semiconductors - and not being economically irrelevant Who knew. The best part is the internet meltdown cycle never changes. Trump: “America needs stronger trade relationships.” Media: “HITLER.” Elon: “I make electric cars, rockets, satellites, AI, and robots.” Internet activists: “Yeah but we posted an angry hashtag.” Cool. I’m sure Beijing is trembling before your TikTok resistance movement. And flying with this group is exactly what you think it would be. Trump walks around the cabin narrating reality like it’s an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Geopolitical: “Great flight. Powerful people. Very high IQ. The Chinese are saying they’ve never seen anything like it.” Elon looks like he hasn’t slept since 2019 and is simultaneously calculating orbital trajectories and wondering if the beverage cart could be automated. Meanwhile Jill and I are sitting there like two exhausted Gen Xers who survived dial-up internet, chain-smoking restaurants, lawn darts, and drinking from garden hoses… wondering how in the hell we became side characters in the weirdest timeline imaginable. Honestly, at this point if Trump walked into Beijing blasting “Danger Zone” while Elon live-streamed it from orbit, I wouldn’t even blink. Because the people who told us America was over are still tweeting from iPhones, driving Teslas, using Starlink during hurricanes, and cashing checks tied to the same capitalist machine they claim to hate. Gen X translation: The world’s still running. The adults are still making deals. And the internet is still confusing hashtags for accomplishments. Carry on.

Israel 🇮🇱 is a country where everyone raptly watches the Eurovision qualifying contest, everyone rallies behind the winner, everyone knows their life story, everyone learns the lyrics, the song is on the radio 24/7, and we stay up all night to watch the final. Spain 🇪🇸 is a country that is jealous.

@EurovisionNewZ Eurovision is all about money and nothing else. Music isn't judged on quality and the bullshit way of voting even confuses the competitors- oh and then there is the selective acceptance of war criminals.

@SeanDubIreland @APCOAConnectIE Worth checking with the car park owners. I believe they get fined for letting non EV cars park in EV spots by whoever installed them chargers (I know because I parked in an EV spot one time and was swiftly told to move because of that reason).

@fwmarqix Happened on our floor. HR didnt want to offend. The smell was so bad we agreed that the rest would suffer without a microwave in order to prevent the smell. They took the microwave away.

My coworker microwaves fish every single day, the entire floor knows it, and the entire floor hates it, but nobody has said anything because nobody wants to be the one who speaks up. Well last week, I did. I knocked on her office door and, as kindly as I could, told her that the smell from the fish was traveling across the entire floor and making it difficult for people to eat at their desks. She looked at me as if I had insulted her entire family, she said she had dietary restrictions and that this was what she could eat, she also pointed out that she had been doing this for two years and no one had ever said anything. I told her I understood and wasn’t trying to make her feel bad, i just wanted her to be aware of how far the smell was spreading. She went to HR. HR called me in and said a complaint had been filed against me for creating a hostile environment. I am someone who politely mentioned a fish smell. The floor is on my side. HR appears to be on hers. And now I’m sitting here, genuinely unsure how I became the villain in a story about microwaved fish. Was I wrong to say something, or is this one of those situations where someone had to?
