🚨BREAKING: As we reported on our show yesterday, approximately 1 Hour following the WHCD shooting, the White House Military Office sent an e-mail directing the amplification of Erika Kirk’s “I want to go home” video clip. Unfortunately, the e-mail was sent to the wrong internal groups. They then attempted to have I.T revoke the e-mail. When that failed they ordered every person to destroy the e-mail. I have manually retyped the relevant portion of the e-mail that they wanted destroyed. (As explained on my show yesterday, this is because the DOD’s IT department has imprinted the e-mail with canary tactics to identify individual leaks) So the question now is— why did the military so quickly prioritize making Erika Kirk the face of WHCD shooting? Is that normal emergency protocol or was this unnaturally preplanned?

Trump: “America needs stronger trade relationships.” Media: “HITLER.” Elon: “I make electric cars, rockets, satellites, AI, and robots.” Internet activists: “Yeah but we posted an angry hashtag.” Cool. I’m sure Beijing is trembling before your TikTok resistance movement. And flying with this group is exactly what you think it would be. Trump walks around the cabin narrating reality like it’s an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Geopolitical: “Great flight. Powerful people. Very high IQ. The Chinese are saying they’ve never seen anything like it.” Elon looks like he hasn’t slept since 2019 and is simultaneously calculating orbital trajectories and wondering if the beverage cart could be automated. Meanwhile Jill and I are sitting there like two exhausted Gen Xers who survived dial-up internet, chain-smoking restaurants, lawn darts, and drinking from garden hoses… wondering how in the hell we became side characters in the weirdest timeline imaginable. Honestly, at this point if Trump walked into Beijing blasting “Danger Zone” while Elon live-streamed it from orbit, I wouldn’t even blink. Because the people who told us America was over are still tweeting from iPhones, driving Teslas, using Starlink during hurricanes, and cashing checks tied to the same capitalist machine they claim to hate. Gen X translation: The world’s still running. The adults are still making deals. And the internet is still confusing hashtags for accomplishments. Carry on.

To combat skyrocketing gas prices in Illinois, we can and should continue to talk about the gas tax, but the bigger culprit is the state double taxing us at the pump. Illinois is one of only a few states that double taxes gas, levying a sales tax on top of gas taxes. Worse, because this sales tax is a percentage (6.25%), the more expensive gas becomes, the more taxes we pay. With the state bringing in so much more revenue than anticipated, JB Pritzker and Springfield could do something to help temporarily lower our pain at the pump. But they won't, because they think you'll blame Trump and Republicans for gas prices, and winning a petty partisan fight is more important to them than helping working families.
