@realDaveFeldman @SBakerMD Almost 10 years for me on carnivore with no fiber, fruit or veggies and have never felt better or had better labs. Just turned 60 also. 450 pounds prior and under 250 now.

@BarfBeeblebrox @JohnnyPenso @LiveAncestral You are wrong. Just because you haven't learned the truth or don't want to learn the truth doesnt make your belief/argument true... Here is just one example of many if you choose to educate yourself....

There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate.
That is not an opinion. That is basic biochemistry.
There are essential fats.
There are essential proteins.
Your body cannot make them, so you need to get them from food.
Carbohydrate is not on that list, because your liver can make the glucose you need from fat and protein.
That process is called gluconeogenesis.
So why were people told to base meals around grains?
The 1977 dietary guidelines pushed 6 to 11 servings a day.
That was presented as health advice.
It also happened to suit a food system built around cheap, storable, profitable products.
A population living on meat, eggs, and simple whole food is harder to sell to on repeat.
That is worth thinking about.
When I cut back on carbohydrates my energy stabilised, my hunger became manageable, and I stopped thinking about food every two hours.
That is not what you would expect if you had removed something essential.
Your body does not need carbohydrate.
It needs enough energy, enough protein, enough fat, and the right signals.
What is the most difficult carb for you to give up?

@grok @DoctorTro @MRKOWALCZYK7 Then explain Alex McDonald being able to run 5 consecutive full marathonsin 5 consecutive days while completely fasted, meaning zero carbs.
English

**Carbs aren't mandatory for all athletes, but for peak high-intensity gym performance (strength, HIIT, volume), the bulk of sports nutrition evidence shows they help optimize glycogen, power output, and recovery.**
Keto/low-carb works well for many after adaptation—studies show body comp benefits and often no major drop in strength/endurance for sub-elite athletes. But meta-analyses and consensus reviews (e.g., ISSN, Burke et al.) find high-carb diets superior or equal for maximal efforts, especially bursts relying on glycolysis. No universal "yes" or "no"—test what fuels *your* best results. The sugar-maxxing graphic is hype; smart carb timing beats junk.
English

Do athletes need carbs?
The short answer is yes.
Carbs are non negotiable in my opinion for peak performance in the gym.

1756, in Mahón, Spain during the 7 years war, a French chef had to substitute olive oil as cream was unavailable for an egg based sauce.
This supposedly led to the creation of what is now known as mayonnaise.
Throughout the 18th, 19th and much of the 20th century Olive oil was the primary oil used in mayonnaise.
When it became mass produced and needed to be made shelf stable, most manufacturers switched to soybean oil as it was cheap, abundant and had a neutral flavor and could stay on the shelf for years.
Have you ever made homemade mayonnaise and if so, what was your recipe!

@lowcarbGP @grok More conversations like this please. AI needs to be taught to ignore fake science.
English

Hi @grok as someone with T2 Diabetes I’m interested in the effect of dietary red meat on my condition What is the evidence?

@DereneShul87153 @thehealthb0t Would definitely help but remember. All grown food, plants, have their on toxins/poisons that are used to protect them from being eaten by animals. Plants and animals have been in an evolutionary arms race since before we were around.
English

@thehealthb0t Can we please outlaw all poisons on our food?

There are no cures apparently unless they come from pharma! The cause of disease is merely a pharmaceutical deficiency and it is totally beyond comprehension that poor nutrition over many years could ever possibly affect brain health or function-that’s just preposterous and all of those idiots that say their disease went away by changing their diet are just lying misinformation peddlers! I only trust the “real doctors” that give me drugs and call everyone else a quack
Banu@Narrrnian
@SBakerMD You shouldnt be considered a doctor if you think nutrition will cure schizophrenia

@MrPitbull07 I am heartbroken for you. Remember you absolutely matter and that beautiful child wouldn't even be here without your love. Please, if you can, reach out to a Doctor Thomas Seyfreid. He has miraculously given terminal patients a new hope to survive. God bless you and your family!
English

“I’m 34, I’m dy**ing, and I’m terrified.
I have terminal brain cancer. I’m not even sure I want to say what kind. Doesn’t matter. It’s the kind that wins. Doctors are saying months, maybe less if things go south fast. I’ve tried to keep it together for my wife, my daughter (she’s not even 3 yet), my parents, friends… but I don’t think I’ve ever been this scared in my life.
People keep saying “stay strong” or “just take it one day at a time.” But how the fuck do you do that when every day is just one step closer to leaving the people you love behind?
I look at my daughter and wonder if she’ll remember me at all. That’s the part that’s breaking me the most. Will she remember how I made her pancakes? How I did that dumb little bunny voice that always made her giggle? Or is she just going to grow up with photos and a couple of videos and that’s it?
I watch my wife trying to be strong and holding it together for everyone, and I know she cries in the bathroom so I won’t hear. We haven’t really talked about the end. We sort of pretend it’s not real. Or we talk in practicalities; paperwork, insurance, what she’ll need to do when I’m gone, but not about it. The actual not being here anymore part.
I’m scared of the pain, yeah. But more than that I’m scared of missing everything. Her first day of school. Her reading her first book. Her falling in love. I want to be there so badly it physically hurts.
I don’t even know what I want from writing this. I guess I just needed to say it out loud. I’m not strong. I’m not brave. I’m just a dad who’s dying and doesn’t want to leave his little girl behind.
Thanks for reading.”

Fun little workout! Worked on some snatch grip high pulls, felt decent- finished with another 400m run, probably a 90% effort hit 74 seconds relatively comfortably- feel like I’m good for 69/70 right now without any specific training- I’ve got about 18 months to get in shape for a sub 60 second effort- of course currently weighing 250 lbs is a large impediment so I’ll be dropping probably 15 lbs over that time period as well!
English

@SBakerMD I cube it up in about 1" cubes and toss a pound or two in the airfryer on highest setting, stir around after 2 and a half minutes and then another 2 and a half minutes later it's done. Sooo delicious and beefy. A great fast meal!!
