A Colombian friend of mine is moving to Spain 🇪🇸 She was in Qatar 🇶🇦 working for an airline, but decided to leave after the drone & missile strikes (Can’t blame her) But moving to Spain has its own set of problems: - She’ll have to enter as a student and can’t work - No path to legal residency if she does things by the book - Completely destroyed job market so even if she got her documents, she’ll just scrape by Very sad to see

Technology sufficient to dominate the planet. No nation can defend itself when Elon starts throwing rocks from the Moon. Whoever built this can wipe out all the infrastructure of their enemies on Earth—gravity well FTW.

@Codie_Sanchez That is like … maybe after Series A. But you have no chance of getting there to ve funded now without hardcore work and innovation you do personally. All of these are like luxury after A.

@forgebitz What you guys are missing is that mvp is good enough for most companies internal tools. They don’t need to grow your ARR. They just need a ui on top of a database and it’s good for like … years. We are now making all needed internal tools as part of each product developement.

It genuinely breaks my brain to imagine what 1400 hours of annual sunshine must be like to live in. When going to college in Chicago, I really struggled with the seemingly endless gray of the winters. Chicago gets 2500 sunshine hours!

@tszzl I liked the visual, had a bit of an analogue feeling to it. Neon green is not a typical space color choice either, it was fine. But I agree both Martian and this could be more special if it went a bit more hard science way, that could be unique in cinema.

project hail mary was unfortunately a middling adaptation of a good book. the script has the unfortunate affect of “language model populism” - where every single line has to be some sort of punched up comedic zinger yet still unremarkable. visuals were uninspired and trite and more or less identical to other space movies. everything good about the film comes from the wonderful world scaffolding of the book and the hard science fiction of it all that lets you suspend disbelief on the alien rocky the movie doesn’t really try to get into the xenolinguistic stuff even at the depth the book tries (someone called it “arrival for idiots” which unfortunately hit ) the thing that elevated the book is the commitment to a hard science fiction engineeringporn fiction at a level nobody else is able to write. the direction of the movie doesn’t really convey the same feeling successfully, and you’re left with flat characters, an alien that is more human than several humans i know, and a marvel populism gosling and the german woman are great as actors, but this movie will not be remembered in a year. it is disappointing to see people do so little with a quarter billion, insane acting talent, and incredible source IP

@gabriel1 Mainly - don’t restrict it (I know you will). But key are things like when chatgpt is searching info on web compared to perplexity computer and shows crawling all pages … (more detail). or when pro image generator uses your brand images client gave you vs “I can’t do it”

@megha_lilly Art can be anything. Therefore also the price of art can be nothing or everything.

Art is not whatever you feel like is cool. Art is craftsmanship which requires medium. Material. It is using material to tell stories in the physical world. Digital images only exist in the digital world and so it’s at the outskirts of the definition. AI cant even create, it can only generate. Therefore AI is not a chisel or a pencil. It’s simply an algorithmic illusion pretending you are making something when really you’re imagining that you are. You’re creating nothing. You know this. We all know this. AI cannot make “art” no matter how cool you think something looks. Just like tofu can never be steak.
🌘revenant⚡@revenant_MMXX

You're seeing people struggling to get their heads around how & why AI-generated media counts as art because they misunderstand what "art" even is. "Art" is the marriage of craftmanship and imagination. It's not the presence or absence of AI that results in what people call "slop," it's a lack of creative talent. If you have creative talent, AI is just another tool to leverage. A video like this is the product of a new kind of craftsmanship, done with a new set of tools, and like any tool, it has to be used in a particular way to produce the results you want:

Rocky Roark ✶ Brand Sprints
OpenAI hired Jony Ive. Gamma, Perplexity, and Superhuman all hired the same branding studio. Every AI company selling “you don’t need a designer” is quietly paying designers to build their own brand. The companies closest to the technology are the ones least willing to trust it with.
Joshua Blankenship@blankenship

Interesting. Gamma paid “the design tax” to a fantastic design agency for their brand identity. I’d love to see a robust public conversation about how AI design tools aren’t good enough for companies to use on their own brands, but are ostensibly good enough for their customers.

@TukiFromKL For economic growth to occur, the money must flow through consumer consumption in the form of wages. No jobs = No wages = No growth. We are a consumer based economy. AI should know that, right? 😂

🚨 Let me tell you why this Goldman Sachs headline is the most dangerous one you'll read today.. Companies spent $450 billion on AI last year.. fired tens of thousands of people to "restructure around AI".. replaced entire departments with chatbots.. And Goldman Sachs just said it contributed basically zero to economic growth.. so where did the money go? > It went to Nvidia.. $130 billion in GPU sales.. Jensen is the only man on earth who got rich from AI that hasn't produced anything yet.. > It went to stock buybacks.. companies fired people, cut costs, reported "record profits" and bought back their own shares.. the money went UP not OUT.. Jesus! > It went to a bubble.. the same way crypto money went to Lamborghinis and not infrastructure.. AI money is going to valuations and not productivity.. here's the part that should terrify you.. They already fired the people.. Atlassian 1,600.. Meta 21,000.. Block 40%.. Amazon warehouses.. the jobs are already gone.. But the growth didn't come.. the productivity didn't come.. the revenue didn't come.. they burned the village to build a city that doesn't exist yet.. and Goldman Sachs just looked at the empty lot and said "there's nothing here"

@TukiFromKL It will be much worse I feer - like all of these companies might be run by one ASI megabrain datacenter and deliver all the product. The issue is people will price that not higher but lower - saying your enterprise had value before when it was costly but now really doesn’t.

I’m surely being stupid. But if AI is rather unconstrained by expertise or capacity or to some extent speed Why do we need to divide tasks or departments to 9 agents ( the marketing agent, the optimization agent etc ) to each do one thing. And then another agent to manage the swarm. Cant one agent just be doing it all you know. It seems very skeuomorphic. Will we have HR agents to make sure the agent agents are being looked after ? A office canteen manager agent to feed the agents ? Seems daft
