It remains an odd human characteristic that some people would prefer to unnecessarily throw money away & dislocate their lives all to cut their tax obligations by a few dollars.

Shocked - but not surprised - at the number of clients who are planning on moving overseas as a consequence of the budget changes to CGT and trust taxation. I am fielding daily calls from HNW clients. And this isn't an emotional outburst: you call your tax lawyer to plan, not to vent. There is going to be a massive capital outflow from Australia.

We didn't know this when we posted the total takedown of #DaveHughes, but apparently he actually ate an animal's COCK on TV, for MONEY while being a VEGETARIAN.

Have you heard #DaveHughes "Hughesy" RANT on social media? The wealthy property investor, once a funny comedian, beneficiary of #WealthyWelfare, having a fucking whimpering sob about the CGT capital gains tax? Well, not only is he a fiscal fool, he doesn't understand the budget, he doesn't understand finances, and he doesn't understand superannuation. All of which he's now concluded means we should call a fucking election, because he's gonna get hit in the hip pocket, just a tiny little bit more. Here is a man with multiple properties, one of his houses in 2017 was apparently valued at $3.06 million, if that was in my suburb, it would it be worth $5-7 million now. And that's just one of them. And he's fucking carrying on as if he's gonna lose his shirt, which, incidentally, he's never had a nice one. Noisy doesn't hold back:

Taxpayers paid 100% to build Liddell. In 2000s, electricity prices based on cost of service (ie marginal cost not inc recovery of capital). In 2014, Liddell privatised. Poles/wires also privatised. Prices then based on regulated market, inc profit. Different world.

Australia had some of the cheapest electricity in the world in the 2000's when Liddell Power Station was in the prime of its life. Today, this government is celebrating literally blowing up Liddell with nothing to replace it and deliver cheap electricity. This madness has to end. This destruction of productive infrastructure is a national shame not something to celebrate. End Net-Zero. Withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Build Coal.
