Youth sports went completely insane at some point over the past several years. Parents spending thousands of dollars, devoting multiple days a week, traveling all around, all so their kid can obsessively play a particular sport and then graduate high school and never play it again. I actually think the “everybody’s a winner, the score doesn't matter” approach was preferable to this. Bring back the participation trophies if this is the alternative.

Odyssey is unwatchable - I have seen multiple extended 20 minute clips and it's just as bad as the 1 minute trailer garbage - the opening looks fake like an SNL skit. The Scenes with Holland and his mommy are not professional movie scenes. Reminded me of the bad acting in starship troopers.

I think what chafes is that JD Vance is obviously more conservative and has higher character than Trump, but people who ultimately and sometimes loudly and dramatically reconciled themselves to Trump are recycling the very arguments they made in 2015 against Trump's deviations and character against Vance.
