@BobbySkinner_ Ravens sign about the same number of UDFAs as everyone else (15–18 per year vs. a league average of ~15). The difference is conversion — they’ve had a UDFA make the Week 1 roster in 19 of 20 years, and their hit list (Tucker, Priest Holmes, Bart Scott, Gus Edwards, Patrick Ricard, Keaton Mitchell, Mekari) is arguably the best UDFA alumni group in the league. It’s not volume, it’s scouting infrastructure and development culture under Harbaugh/DeCosta. For the Giants, that’s the gap worth studying — not how many they sign, but how they identify and develop the right ones.

... The one big wild card: RB Jeremiyah Love. I don't think he'll be there at 5, and I don't think the Giants do either.
If he is, there are people in the building who want him to be the pick, and others who don't believe a RB should go that high.
That might be a tough call.

The Giants could still go in the direction I picked in this mock, but I'm starting to lean against it. I do think LB Sonny Styles, WR Jordyn Tyson and S Caleb Downs are all in play at both picks.

DJ has Saints trading up to 3 and taking Reese.
Love falls to Giants at 5, and then he has Tate going at 10. Downs goes 12.
I don't think Giants will double up on same side of ball, except if second pick is OL.

@TurkStevens @art_stapleton @northjersey I consider 1st and 2nd rounders as 'premium' picks. They are expected to start early and solidify the position long term. In this class, there a few DTs worthy of a pick in that late 1st/early 2nd range...but I get your point that this year's class is lacking elite/blue chippers

Coming off an injury and he was unhappy and 'holding in' last year leading to the down year, which was still better than 95% of DL

@MoveTheSticks @RapSheet I don’t understand this trade for Cincy DJ. Turns 29 in November, 30.5 career sacks (an average of just 3.8 per season) and looking for a new deal over the $23.5M per year he’s already making. Would’ve rather drafted secondary or OL at 10.

I was on the phone with a GM less than an hour ago running through top 10 scenarios. The way we had it going, we both said, “the bengals are screwed.” Well, not anymore. This trade makes a ton of sense for them.

The reasons used against drafting Max (how new he is to football) may actually be the reason why he'll end up being a steal in the draft. He's not as raw as he's made out to be and he's only going to get better with NFL coaching. Easy 1st-round worth pick IMO. Easy.

Arizona State’s Max Iheanachor has such nimble feet, thanks in part to his soccer background, and he never stops moving them. Such high upside as a pass protector. One of the most explosive OL in the class - 95th percentile broad (9’7”) - and allowed 0 sacks this past season.

It’s John or Derek for me. Lucky enough to have seen them both play live. Derek when he played with “The Brothers” and John with Dead & Co
I would describe the viewing/listening experience in one word: Melting.

@SteveLovesAmmo They are readily available in the summer in NJ and Florida and Texas. I have seen them in the last year in Florida and NJ and a couple of years ago in Texas. Not as many as we used to have but they are still around

Interested to see the full details of the deal with Giants for WR Darnell Mooney. Hearing this is going to be a tremendous value signing as Giants waited out the market.
Mooney wants to be here with Jaxson Dart, back with OC Matt Nagy for whom he had his best year in CHI in 2021.

They need to restructure AT, Burns, Adebo, extend and restructure dex and make a few more cuts (like gano) in order to free up enough cap space for these signings and also have enough for the draft and rest of season

Hearing internally Giants feel free agency so far couldn’t have gone better but that they are at the low end of their budget now and any further moves would have to be modest deals.

Best change I made in my life:
1. Wake up and immediately drink 16 oz WARM water with @redmondrealsalt Relyte. That product IMMEDIATELY kills brain fog.
2. Wait 90-120 min for coffee. I drink it black with Redmond ancient sea salt pinch.
Hydration is a lot more than just water.
